There was that guy in "Boogie Nights" who was always doing magic tricks for everyone when they were hanging out.
At the end, when his porn career is over, he gets a stage act. |

DeForest Kelley (Dr. 'Bones' McCoy on the original Star Trek) was famous for his coin roll in TV westerns before he got the Trek gig, but I don't know if he did it in any western movies. I'm guessing he probably did, since that was his signature move and directors loved it.

I seem to recall Jim Backus doing a coin roll in MAN OF A THOUSAND FACES (a biopic starring James Cagney as silent screen star Lon Chaney Sr).
For a supernatural chiller mixing magic (prestidigitation, legerdemain) with Magic (occultism, mysticism), check out my novel MAGIC: AN OCCULT THRILLER at http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Occult-Thriller-Reed-Hall/dp/1453874836

The Escape Artist (1982). Griffin O’Neal, who was fifteen at the time, does Derek Dingle’s Oil and Vinegar. Ricky Jay was the magic consultant.

You're right karnak. Jim Backus does a coin roll in Man of a Thousand Faces. He rolls it forward and back but doesn't go underneath.

Does anyone here watch the Netflix production of "Lucifer?"
For those who don't, quick synopsis; Lucifer Morningstar is the Devil. Tired of ruling Hell, he abandons his post and takes a vacation in Los Angeles, opening a nightclub, "Lux," and engaging in all sorts of hedonism. In THIS reality, Lucifer doesn't temp the innocent so much as he punishes the guilty. When a drive by shooting kills a woman Lucifer had befriended, Lucifer works with the police (specifically a Detective Chole Decker) to root out and punish the killer. He then decides to work WITH the police to find murderers and punish them directly. Becoming fascinated with Detective Decker, who seems to be the only person immune to his mezmerising (sp) abilities and around whom, he's physically vulnerable. The first episode of the sixth (and final) season has them going on a date to a "Hollywoodized" version of the Magic Castle! Here they get involved in a murder that occurs onstage. And we find out Lucifer HATES learning how magic tricks are done! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12585334/?ref_=ttep_ep1 I assume this is a Hollywoodized version of the club, as Lucifer gets a drink from a tray propelled by a skeleton, and someone walks by doing "sheet and legs" levitation bit. I don't think these things actually happen on a regular night!
