It does come in your choice of Red or Blue. I had a preference and am happy to have a deck of he color that I predominantly use.
If you have a distinct perference, be sure to ask for the color you like. If you don't specify a preference, I imagine that you will just whatever color is on the top of the stack. BroDavid

I'd love to hear some feedback on this as the first group gets delivered. I am still on the fence on this one. Thanks in advance for upcoming reviews.

Does anyone know if you have to pay more for international shipping - there is no clue on the web site or email address to ask.

I just performed this tonight at magic club meeting with eight guys around a large round table.
And when the card started visibly moving down through the deck, there were a couple of "oowhs" and then it got very quiet, and stayed that way until the card got back to the top, and I showed the card and poured out the rest of the deck onto the table. I heard the same comment from a couple of guys afterward, "I don't know how that works, but it sure looked good!" BroDavid

I think this is becoming like many other tricks. It was released early October. I paid for mine October 14th and keep getting song & dance emails about the DVD not being ready, etc. Last I heard they would be ready in a "couple" days. Needless to say, that was more than a "couple" days ago. So, are they ready or are they not? And, if not, when will they REALLY be ready and shipped?

I ordered this effect on the 21st of October and there is still no sign of it here either.
Meanwhile, I have received three other international orders from various magic suppliers (eg Daytona) all ordered on the 21st of October. Hmmmm. I guess the "Escalator" is being jammed by the "Spider Pen"... still waiting for these as well (from Hocus Pocus). |

I just called and was told that mine was shipped out priority mail yesterday and that they are getting them out as fast as they can. So ......yes we must be patient.

Okay, here's a review from an actual owner who has it in his hands. Mine finally arrived and I have played with it all day.
It is a great effect and does look exactly like the demo, so if you want to do THAT trick, it is, in my estimation, worth the $100.00. Okay, that said, an earlier reviewer remarked on the quality of construction. I don't agree. It's okay, but does not merit real high marks in that area. Mine already binds (if you get one, you'll know what I mean,) and it's due to one part that is poorly affixed. I will, no doubt, have to disassemble the case and re-do the flap of the box, which I shouldn't have to do and wouldn't have had to had it been better built. Cellophane tape just doesn't cut it on something like this. But, I still think it's worth $100 because I think they will ALL eventually wear and need to be "re-built" a little. And, despite this fault, a lot of work did go into making this and, of course, part of the price probably is (and should be,) something to Gaeton Bloom for his incredibly creative idea. If you do the exact demo as shown, it is utterly easy to do. You'll "master" it in a matter of minutes. Everything happens exactly as it should. The deck is removed from the case and the open case set on the table and, yes, they can see it is empty. Card is chosen and signed, if you wish and the deck returned to the case with no funny business. The chosen card is inserted into the deck and left protruding and away it goes. As mentioned again below, I prefer Gaeton Bloom's original handling where the card only travels upward. The DVD is outstanding, giving more information that you probably want to know. The host virtually tells you everything about the mechanics and how to replace the cardcase with any other brand or color, and its weak spots (which was one of mine) that you might eventually need to fix. Don't get me wrong. With normal proper care, the case as it is should last a very long time and a great number of performances. Mine just had something that wasn't really put on correctly. The routines included are also exceptional. I think the basic effect as a killer finish for the Ambitious Card is outstanding just as it is. I also kind of like the sandwich trick at the end of the DVD. Very good idea, but the simple basic effect is hard to beat. By the way, the DVD includes the exact effect that Gaeton Bloom originally submitted and I think that is the best handling. The card only goes UP, not down and then up and I think that is a lot stronger. One final tip, remove the stamp on the flap. Once again, if you have it and you've run into a little hangup I ran into, you'll know what I mean. You might save yourself some future problems if you just remove it when you get it. I think it's a great trick, an ingenious idea, easy to do and an impressive visual illusion. This is like something Ken Brooke would have sold in the 70's and nobody would have been unhappy with his investment. |

Hi runawayjag.
Great review. Thanks Just one more question. What are the angles like? Cheers James |

runawayjag Inner circle 1085 Posts |
The angle are very good. With care it is almost angle proof...not entirely, but pretty close. The very few times I've done it already, I've found the spectator's gaze to be pretty well focused on the card moving. It does look unbelievable.

Got mine in the mail last night and all in all am very impressed with it. Looks great. I will agree with runawayjag about the construction of the flap being a bit of a problem. The scotch tape on mine is coming off after only a few uses. I would like to know how others are dealing with fixing this. I have not had any problems with the stamp on the box so have not removed it. Instructional DVD is very well done.

How much other stuff can you do with it? also, how close can someone be lookin at it moving. can they actually see it in between cards? anything to the effect of exit51 but obviously different...? I think 100 bucks is really expensive for a card trick... I had a hard time justifying 100 bucks for just a key. By the way, is just a key worth the money, any special features I should know about?
