Ha ha. Well - I play the spoons. Any kind - table, ladle, soup or tea.

Just kidding.

I used to play the guitar a lot. Then I discovered magic, aprox 6 or 7 years ago. I haven't played since. I find magic far more rewarding and addictive.

I'm a jazz drummer; been playing over 25 years (all through school, college, and several bands after university). Love my killer c. 1962 Slingerland "Buddy Rich" kit; classic Zildjian cymbals, too; classic sounds. A good day? Drums in the morning and magic in the afternoon...

I play the cymbals. Oddly, almost no one hums the "1812 Overture" around me anymore.

I started my career as a performing rock musician in the late 80's. I have been playing guitar and many other instruments since I was 4 years old and today I have released 5 different music cd's. When I am not practicing magic I am recording songs in my home studio which you can see pictures of at http://www.dreamparkmusic.com I have released three childrens music cd's and a couple of rocking folk albums too. I spent many yars on the road as a full time rocker before settling on full time magic in the late 90's.

Although I am a full time magician now I still manage to play at about 15 music festivals and childrens festivals per year as the headlining music act.

If you would like to listen to some of my cd's here are some links...

I should mention that I am currently recording a new childrens cd (Since September 2007) and it should be out by February this year. I have the pleasure of having a good friend and fellow magician/musician Rick Mearns, who is a regular here at the Magic Café, playing the drum and percussion tracks for this cd. Rick is a very talented musician as well as clever magic dude!!!

I was fortunate to have Rick on my second childrens cd as well. This cd encorporates lots of middle eastern and contemporary north Amercian sounds.

Look for it soon at http://www.zanyzack.ca which is my music site.

Played guitar in a few semi-pro bands, duos etc. over the years. I don't gig much these days, with work, family etc., but I have fun writing and home-recording little songs and posting them on my Myspace page:

I play guitar (six string acoustic mostly but I am toying with the idea of buying a Fender Telecaster), bass (electric), Irish button-box (C#/D), and recorder (alto and soprano). I started playing music when I was about 10 years old (at school).

Instead of a Telecaster I bought a custom-shop Strat... OMG, this is so much fun. I wish I had given the idea of an electric guitar more thought long ago. I bought a blues junior fender tube amp and have fallen in love with the sound. No pedals or anything like that, just love the sound the way it is. I am thinking about buying a V-wah, anybody out there have any thoughts on that (and pedals and such)?

Hi Sparks,

I have a v-wah and it is a beautiful thing. You will make your strat do things you didn't think were possible with one of those. I definitley suggest you explore other pedals such as an all in one type unit by boss or roland. They have so many cool pedal boards these days that you could just sit down with your guitar, plug it in and experience hundreds of awsome sounds and effects.

A strat has such a beautiful sound that many strat guys only use it staight into the amp with maybe a compressor pedal or wah pedal.
