Jeff McBride uses the 'Audley Walsh Long Distance Spinner', and he in fact teaches it on volume 3 of his 'Art of Card Manipulation' videos. There is an online explanation but it is poor compared to the one on the McB DVD. I suggest you check it out.

I have learned to adapt a front palm spinning technique which works great for my scaling cards. I like it better cause it keeps the cards concealed from the audience at all times. This makes it appear as if the cards are shooting out of an empty palm.
You learn to adapt moves to your own style of performance. If you practice each week, then you start to learn to experiment a little and through experimenting, that is where happy accidents come about. This is the case with my own scaling technique. Kyle

Well, I use my own technique in which I hold the deck by its small sides with thumb on the inner side and 3rd,4th and 5th fingers on the opposite outter side. Then I throw the top card with the 1st finger (index finger. It enables you to do a long distance shot with good aim!
