I'm intrigued by this at Hocus Pocus but the blurb refers straight back to Waters' video.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Here is my advice buy the book "Mind Myth and Magic" its has loads of stuff in it and you can then build your own "box office" that's what the effect is called in the book. It is very easy to make and I am in the process of building one myself.

There is a lovely presentation of this in Borodin's book 'Sheherazade'.

Caleb Strange.

Yes there is except your prediction is only a 1 in 3.
I feel more objects would help make the effect look stronger.
I am also in the process of building a ring box as described in 'Sheherazade' as well as trying to finish my first magic prop release.

I agree with Bloodyjack, buy the book. It takes little effort and a very small amount of money to make this prop...always best to buy the book.

Thanks for the feedback. I've gotten mixed remarks about Mind Myth and Magick. I understand its good but not specifically "bizarre"? It would appear that its definitely worthwhile though.

It's well worth your time and money.

I would agree that the book is worth getting. the presentation is what can make it bizarre. I have made one, and use it with my egyptian themed show.

While MM&M by T.A. Waters isn't fully for the bizarrists you could easily adapt the effects presented for bizarre magick. The text is a must own!

I had oen of these made up a year back and it really is wonderful, I have to say it is ever so sleightly different, in terms of the box and the contents of it fitting my story but it really is very magical indeed. I use it as the revelation to many other stages of other routines, at the end opf an evening where I have forced other items upon the gathered spectators.

Kind thoughts,
Kennedy

Keep your eyes open at flea markets and garage sales.
I have found several chests/jewelry boxes which are easily adapted to the effect.

In the July 2006 issue of The Linking Ring, the Ring parade has a version with two trays instead of a chest with a drawer. This is much easier to put together and travel with. I used a Chinese theme. Please see:

Simon, if you're only buying Bizarre Magick books, you're limiting yourself horribly. Source material is everywhere (and MM&M is one of the best). Bizarre is what you bring to that material.

Paul, great job on the props!

Don't agree. Even a head or tail prediction could extremely strong with the right presentation. One of my personal favorite effect is "The Curse of Vanderdeken"; the trick is purely a binary choice. But, the trick isn't the effect. The effect is more about the impression that you're cursed...
Neil Tobin is right, read other books. ('along with MM&M and Sheherazade... Smile )

While working on a custom order with Ray and Debora Witkowski, Ray told me some of the story about Tabman USA and the manufacturing rights to Chest of Destiny. Long story short: Ray now has the rights along with the rest of the Tabman Line and will produce these.

Here's a link to the current page:

http://tabmantables.com/

Ray's work is top-notch. I have a very nice piece from the line sitting on top of an antique desk. I should have it covered up to protect it from dust, etc. but it is too darn nice to put away or cover!
