And 7 to denounce that changing a light bulb this way was :

a) exposing a secret
b) must be credited to Tom the Amazing Edison, who was the first who changed a light bulb anyway.

1 to say that he has a booking next Tuesday to light up the Golden Gate Bridge for 300,000 spectators and, since he has always been more into cards than lightbulbs, could someone suggest a few simple effects that he could master by then.

1 post describing 10 new methods for changing a lightbulb

5 posts condemning the guy for exposing methods in an open forum

1 post from an entrepeneurial member alleging that the 10 new methods were stolen from his new e-book (available to Café members for $30 via PayPal)

1 post from Max Maven on the history of each of the 10 "new methods," including detailed references to late 19th/early 20th century monograms and patent documents

1 post like this from someone with way too much time on his hands!

Have you all (northern hemisphere), planted your daffodil bulbs, crocus, hyacinth, tulips, by the way?

(then of course you get the eccentric replies from people like me).

And finally
1 magic-cafe moderator who deletes the topic because writing about changing light blubs is against the forum rules! ;-)

2 to announce they saw Mickey Silver do something with a light bulb.

LOTS to chime and and state they eagerly await the SUB (Silver Ultimate Bulb) DVD when it is released.

Watch out for an amazing new light bulb change I'm tipping in my forthcoming E-Book, "Brilliant Minds".

Let me whet your appetite.

Effect
A light bulb is seen to be working and suddenly goes.
The magician removes the old bulb, takes a new one from it's carton and plugs it in. It lights.

This is the bit that will confound those 'in the know':
No threads
No pulls
No rough and smooth, short or long
No magnets
No additional gimmicks
No sleights
No switches
(oops, disregard that last one )

It happens exactly as it reads.
Magic that happens in the hands.
