It's an OK book. It was fairly widely panned when it came out. There's a few interesting ideas in it worth checking out.

I actually liked this book very much. The mentalism stuff alone is worth the price of admission. The impromptu pen through bill and Eric's false shuffle (Shufflesque) are two items I use all the time. While a few of the effects I thought were filler (Unlocking your car door being one of them), I felt that the overall contributions were definitely worth looking at.

My favorite of the book is Torque, where the heat from your mental concentration causes a coin to bend and then the coffee in a cup to boil. There is another one I enjoyed called Scatterbrain. It is the revelation of a word, selected by a spectator, from a newspaper. It's easy to do, but the revelation is quite nice (IMHO). There's a version of ashes using butterflies and a Q and A mentalism piece that is of interest (although I've never performed it.) Although I am not a card-man, I like Outsmart. Here you ask the spectator to name their favorite card. When they do, you spell out "Your Favorite Card" and the card they named is at that location. It is rare that I get this many items that I like in one book.

I bought the book for Scattered Brained. It was worth the rice of the book. The TIP I got after doing "scatter brained" at a barmitzfa paid for the book. Get it already.

I think filler is a little strong a word to use when talking about Ah-Ha. There is an extremely diverse range of material, and not all of it is going to appeal to everyone. The already mentioned "Unlocking the car door" effect is something I've used a couple of times, and if you act it right, it is seriously good. Others may describe this as filler.
In short, there is something to be had from most of the effects from this book, whether it's in terms of effect, method, plot or presentation. If you enjoyed Simply Harkey, then I think this is a worthy second installment. Liam. |

Yes, it's out of print. I try already since long time to get it. I've read it once while visiting Ted Lesley in his library. I liked it really, therefore I would like to have it also in my library (also for crediting properly...). Until now without success. There was a member here who was considering to sell it (and he even knew why I want the book ), but he decided to keep it. I can't blame him... Jan

Fingerling is one of the most organic and strongest impromptu pieces of magic I have ever preformed. Ah ha has great ideas. If Simply Harkey is better, I would love to read it.

It's not about to be better, simply harkey has almost 80 routines and avout 20 for A-Ah !
So, it looks logical the first one has more sex-appeal I think the both are very intersting.
