Some Café fascist deleted my entries. Ugh. I bought it. It's garbage. That pretty much sums up my earlier entries.

Oops, now that pesky fitst letter "e" has gone missing as well. I'd beter be careful with this whole vanish secret before I lose the entire alphabet...

Now I notice some of the letters in various words in both posts have changed into other letters (another part of the Fearson manuscript).

Of course, it would probably help if I had my first cup of coffe and proof-read what I write prior to sending it out...

I will now take my bow for having been the first person to successfuly perform the vanish electronically on this thread since its release.

Remember... it takes practice to to get this quality of entertainment.

I could see using it in a comedy routine and have been doing some mental storyboarding...

Lbertie, they deleted some of your posts because I reported some of them. Realize you're new to the board, so probably didn't realize that directly referring to the method on this open board is a no no. Once you reach 50 posts, you'll be able to join in on some of the "private areas" where folks can be more open in their discussion of methods.

While I disagree with your take on the product, wasn't the reason for my jumping in. Was strictly to protect their intellectual property (I know....what intellectual property....)

The thing is that the advertisement is completly wrong. Steve presente it like a solution to vanish anywhere else and that's NOT true. You can say what you want but I'm sure that everyone was expecting something else than this kind of old trick. This man has a reputation because of his Fantastic Floatation a his famous sawing and I'm sure that he has took the advantage of it to release something just to make some cash. How many of us have bought it because we were expecting something great? How many of was was saying WOW while reading the advertisement? Let me tell you that before to write the thought, I've read the manuscript think carefully to the potential of it before to make comment. There's no potential at all. Do you think that you'll get book by a CEO because of this trick? Let me be skeptical.
Now it is true that the Monkey vanish has some great potential. Maybe it sells the book in itself BUT that was not the goal of this manuscript. I've not buy this book to disapear inside a Monkey. The idea is great, but I'm not interest in it at all.
And just a quick note to Angelo, if you are happy with it... good for you, but please don't try to convince us that it is an amazing effect. Try to place yourself in our situation who didn't know what we were supposed to expect. Read the advertisement... Are you sure that you would expecting this kind of effect?
To be honest, I was about to buy Fantastic Floatation. My friend has already buy it so I know that IT IS GOOD. BUT I'm so deceive by what Steve has sold that I'm rethinking to it.
There's other good way to REALLY make the impression that we vanish (for an audience)...I'm gonna work on it rather. Even if it's just 7.00$ It is the worst 7.00$ that I have spent in magic prop of any kind.

Johnny , I'm speachless, you've said it all. Your absolutely right! I wish Mr. Fearson could create some kind of time machine to get my money back.
Altought, I don't understand what's the idea of Mr. Fearson send me Private Messages offending me. I Think all the majority of members live in free democratic countries around here. Good for those who enjoy the effect. But generally , I agree with Johnny, nobody was expecting to receive such an idiot idea. Do you call this a effect? This is a gag. It could be released in a new edition of "Party tricks. This was advertised as something Big, something amazing, a totally new concept... and it's far from "Good". Even a child could think of something like this.
"I absolutely guarantee it will be worth the wait." - Says Mr. Fearson , this is just an example of the excellent advertising. And that is what the effect is all about. Everyone got hipnotized by the pre-selling ad's. But Nobody really expected this. If This is Fearson's new generation of tricks, you better really leave magic. Sorry For the honesty.
Kind Regards,
JP

Does anyone know where I can purchase Corinda's "Power of Darkness"?? It doesn't seem to be available any more.

Thanks!

I think I did learn something......the most striking and enlightening idea of the ebook is Fearson's approach to the problem: you can easily vanish someone who isn't there!!!! Gee....i have never approached the problem that way. Hats off mr. Fearson.

Powers of Darkness...Magic Inc sold that one...do they still, or did Mr Caveney buy all rights to it?

If Mr. Fearson guaranteed the effect to be worth the wait, and it wasn't, just ask for your $ back based on his personal guarantee.

I've wasted so much on diddly-squat ebooks that $7 on a workable gag would be worth the price to me...BUT, I'm on a Mac and am shut out. I'm $7 richer, but woe is me.

So it goes...

I did this 3 times last night. I did the Poltergeist. I've done this before so I had no problem with that. Then I followed with the vanish.

The first 2 times I did the vanish I got caught. Like he said in the Ebook. It'll take some practice so that's no big deal to me. I had a little handicap on this trick. Being deaf I didn't realize how much noise I make when I move. I also found out the coins in my pockets where rattling.

The third time I did it (To a different person each time obviously). It worked great! She screamed so loud when I reappeared that even I heard it. Smile

IMO it's a good trick. To some it will seem like "A gag" but when you hit it right it's a very powerful piece of magic to the person you do it to. To the onlookers it will seem more like a gag but when the person who you did it to reacts it'll be magical.

I feel that even if you get a good reaction from one person then you've got your $7 worth. I've paid more for things I give out as gits in my shows (candy, roses, etc..). Heck, I paid more then that for my lunch yesturday.

After regaining my ability to hear after 20 years of deafness. I learned that there is magic all around you. The simplest sounds that amazed me you probably ignore. Look and listen around you right now. You'll find something you didn't notice before.

I just saw Corinda's Powers Of Darkness listed at Magic Inc.'s website for $20.00. Mike Caveney has a great version too using coathangers.

Hope this helps.

Right, I think Fearson mentioned this in the e-book as well. He suggested that it may be viable to buy one those and modify as necesary.
