Absolutely ingenious. Ron Jaxon knows what I'm talking about, here. Please forgive Steve, if you're disappointed in something he's released, as there is always something out there someone does not like or has "buyer's remorse" about. We have all bought things we have been disappointed with. Steve Fearson, for me, remains at the top of the list! Best! Doug |

I saw some rare footage of Steve Performing the sawing on Japanese TV. He did it better then DC in my opinion.
I use to talk to him on the phone years ago. Yes, I could hear well enough then to talk on the phone with the help of an amplifier. We shared a lot of ideas and he told me about some of the ideas he was working on. He never said he'd definitely had plans for any of them. Just shooting ideas at each other. He does have a good mind for creating magic and has given us some excellent tricks. His FFF is really what started all these self levitation's that are out now. Until he made FFF there really wasn't a good practical method to make yourself float. Ron Jaxon |

Steve is a genius, I agree that he does the Sawing better than DC who does it great on his special but not so good live on stage, although a tricky thing to do live.. The workings are self evident, think about it for a minute..
I know of a european Magician who does a very bad version of the effect, it was screened on Sky TV in the U.K. |

His Floating Cig is still the most beautiful levitation effect ever. Hard to beat. Floagint a lit cig and have it magically float to your mouth has to be the most magical thing we can do. I think it is in the Harry Potter league.

I thought that video was SICK of him doing the "laser" illusion. He has definatly created some incredible/insane tricks! I agree the floating cig is the best... TonyKo, do you have any suggestions for a walk around performance of his floating cig? PM?
How did the rumor start. Did he tell one of you that it 'was' coming out... I think that will be the most incredible street/closeup trick available... Does anyone think that he may not want to release something like that because anyone could do it. If it was only a simple move or distraction, like the balducci, anyone could learn it. if it was something like fism flash/men in black, then we could all spend some dough on it, and keep it one of the best secrets ever. Steve, I promise I wont tell. Ill pay you. -Jesse PS: I'm all up in the "boston blizzard of 2005". If its all its cracked up to be, maybe 2 feet? probably less... peace |

I got this as part of an email this morning
Several months ago I was lying awake in bed one morning when I had a shift of perspective regarding the vanish. I suddenly saw a real, workable solution. One with no props or gimmicks that could be done virtually anytime, anywhere by anyone. I was able to perform a rough version of the trick for my wife that very day! Since then I’ve only shared the concept with a very few select magicians. Angelo Carbone and Paul Harris are two who’ve played with it and helped me refine it. I’m happy to have had the opportunity to run it by some of the brightest minds in magic and the response has all been very positive. I’m ready to put together the final product. It will be released this week, in a brand new downloadable format I am working on. Updates in a few days! |

That's similar enough as an effect, but different enough not to step on DC's toes...there are a couple others as well, and I'd say, let's steer clear of "exclusive rights"-owned stuff, and look in our own Café, if you want this kind of wonderful effect...look here: http://www.masterofillusions.ca/master_o......ours.htm This, in my opinion is superior. I wonder what inspired them to COPY those illusions?
sorry.. I meant CREATE! What inspired them to CREATE those knock offs. haha! I love magic. I wonder if those tricks really are "different enough" or if David just hasn't had the time to take care of them yet? In any case it's a shame to see others make money off the trick if it's true that Fearson can't. Dr Magic :carrot: |

There are so many different ways to cut someone in half but they are all the same in idea. Come on I think that was a knock off comment there. I mean a creative comment there Dr.... Well to be quite honesty. Bisection is far from laser as is Peter beside yourself. These people have done there research to make sure it isn't the same in method and performace.
But I should say lets keep with the topic of the vanish. Michael

I wonder how we know they are not the same considering the original plans are not available? They sure look very similar.
I certainly wouldn't want to get into an argument about magic knock off's though. I know that goes noplace fast.. and I could care less Those magic dealers can do whatever they want as far as I'm concerned. I find it amazing that people bother to rip off magic tricks in the first place. If you're going to steal, why not sell something you can make money off of like knocked off Nike shoes or Gucci sunglasses? It's none of my business anyway.. I just assumed they were attempts at recreating the same illusion and found it somewhat comical. For all I know, those guys invented theirs first and kept them secret until they saw David Copperfield's act. Maybe they did get permission, I wouldn't know. I just get a kick out of the whole magic inventing thing. My prediction for Summer 2005? Time to jump on the vanish bandwagon. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming Fearson Sawing Does anyone have a better copy of this thing? If so PLEASE PM me, thanks! Dr Magic :carrot: |

I have the David Copperfield version in wmp format... its about 26 mbs. anyone who can maybe post it up on a server to share for everyone to download, let me know... I can send it to you... the quality is really high. I could see his shirt thru the middle of the legs. they seperate a little during performance. You will be reminded that David Copperfield does all the same moves that Fearson does, all variations at least... someone post this video up... PM ME -Jesse
