I'm not dissappointed with the value of the trick for the buck. But I was pretty pumped and a little bummed that it didn't live up to the major hype behind it. Still a usable effect though. Nice work guys.

The assertaion that he wrote it up in a half hour or that anyone could have written it up in a half hour...well...he did it. It's like looking at a piece of modern art with paint splashed on the canvas. I was once at an art exhibit and I commented to Vincent Price (yeah...that one)"I could do that!"...and Mr. Price said "Yes...but he did it." Made an impression I never forgot. (And the artist wasn't even an Impressionist!)

I think that this application could be made on stage as a gag. You could invite a spectator on stage that will be the only one to be completly amaze by your disapearance while the other will laugh.

Just my thought.

Angelo/Xmosis, interesting that two creators who put so much time and effort into each of their creations (referring to the individual handcrafted items, not just the idea) can also have this appreciation for an "idea!" Just an observation...

You just can't please everyone can you.

Even if the price is great value you still get complaints.

Half an hour? Wishful thinking!

Why do we bother?

Angelo,
The people who are complaining about this are the same kind of people who buy "miracle pills" that they think will make them loose weight without doing anything on their own. They wanted to open up the download and be able to snap their fingers and vanish. Most magicians today want to open up the package and just go...that is why inventors like Fearson are few and far between.

I, for one, am not content to go out and buy "EZ, 5 Minute Magic that all people, even comatose ones, can perform without any practice". We need minds like Fearson's if we ever want anything better than that. Its not just him either...there are several inventors out there like this that have come up with great stuff, but its gonna take more than five minutes to do, and a little bit more dedication than the 15 seconds it took for you to look at the secret and decide that you didn't like it.

I realize that most people who bought this are going to complain and that's alright...Im sure you guys (Steve Angelo and Paul) knew this was going to happen. But you probably also knew that a few of us would like it, and that's what made you finish the project. So thanks for your effort on this project...I plan on adapting several of the ideas for my own show, and Im sure others will do the same.

My Best,
Allen

ScottLeavitt...As Eyore says: "Thanks for noticin' me." Smile

It was a simple idea that sparked me to create what you refer to. I like a full symphony or a guy with a banjo...it's all music.

Johnny Dee...I totally agree with that...it could be fun! Also would be a gass for kid show performers too in that mode.

Erm no... the people that are complaining are the ones who see this for what it is - a throwaway gag, not the astounding vanish that Fearson hyped it up to be. If it had been advertised as such, fine - but to hype this up the way he has, is shocking - I don't know how he has the b*lls to, to be quite honest. Yes, its only $7, but you wouldnt pay $7 for a steaming pile of dog turd would you? Wait a minute, I just have....

What did you expect for $7?? Woofle dust?

It's usable. The first time I saw this concept was on a Laurel And Hardy film called the Bohemian Girl. And I believe it also appeared in one of Paul Harris' works.

Ok I had to buy it. Some say yay one says nay.

I say YAY.

If I was a working pro I would make a career off the monkey thing. How different is that from the laser?

I don't see why anyone would complain about this bit?? Maybe you know some other way to vanish? If so, do tell.

Fearson gave us 2 working methods, for under 7 bucks. He could have easily got more in my opinion.

Well, if Laurel and Hardy used it, it must be good.

I don't care if it was $7 or 7p, its a rip-off. If it was sold for what it is ( a novelty gag), fine. To sell it as the miracle self vanish that he has hyped it up to be is shocking.

I actually preferred the hype he created around the Station Manager document. At least there ws something mildly of use in there. Here, theres not even a half-assed pyramid explanation.

Don't think I've tried it in about 18 years. I then followed it up with a game of tag and two man run.

Yes, but with a point - it is a stunt pulled by kids, no more impressive than having somebody shut their eyes and diving in a bush nearby. Its like that stupid kids trick of pulling your thumb off - it is a novelty gag and nothing more. IMHO at least...

When I got hold of the manuscript or exe file which way you want to take it . I started reading it with a pinch of salt . for in my mind I knew what I was going to find , and the method was the exact thing I came up with if I had to be faced with the same dilema of an impromptu vanish , so I just read it over and had a nice laugh , now for the monkey vanish , its that illusion I have been wating for in ages it fits perfectly in my caveman act , so I will set on to build it .

well as they say someone's trash is another persons treasure

Well...i think the Monkey Vanish alone is worth the price of admission (it really can go into a fromal illussion show) considering how much you have to spend for buying one of those illussion books. The best idea I found is Angelo's idea using a tube (it is better than Paul's idea because the assisting spectatro will be convinced that you remained in their sight until you vanish), even observing spectators will be puzzled to some degree as to how the assisting spectator got fooled. Although thechinical details has still to be worked out (as the descriptionos of the methods are quite brief)I have immediately visualised a workable routine that I know I will use. For the price of 2 deck of bikes we get nothing to lose

Dr Magic.. you don't need to try it. I have no doubt it will fool the spectator for a second. A second. Hurrah, what an acheivement you can fool one person for a second and look like joke for a whole heap longer.

Hey, if you like it go for it. I prefer not making specs feel like idiots and make myself look like a joke.
