There is a trick with a single die where you show the both sides of a die and the dots magically become less. It uses the paddle move but I'm not sure where to place my hands!!!!! Can someone please explain or tell me what site this effect can be found on????
Thanks adam |

That sounds like an effect that I perform to lead into Daryl's Dicey Dots. It is something I've been doing for years but I can't recall the source of the effect. It is extremely visual.

Try the search function. The routine is called the “Dr. Sacks dice routine” and has been discussed several times here on the Café.
One such discussion is at: Click here or Click here or even Click here maybe Click here or Click here There are others but you get the idea. One of the few places the routine has been written is in Bruce Elliott’s “Classic Secrets of Magic”. The book can still be found used at several booksellers. The book was written for the general public. On video you will find several versions (all basically the same with only minor handling differenced). Check out: Reed McClintock's “The Ivory Connection” Steve Draun’s “Draun on Dice” Click here Bob Sheets “It’s the Rules”. Click here

There is a video that teaches the effect called of course, Dr. Sacks Amazing Dice Trick for $18.00 from The Magic Warehouse and can be found at the following link.
http://www.themagicwarehouse.com/vidcl2.html You can find a video demo at the following link http://www.murphysmagicsupplies.com/cata......ick.html Dr Sacks Amazing Dice Trick $18.00 "We don't know whether words can convey to you how strong Dr. Sack's dice routine is. He did it for us and it is a veritable eye popper. It satisfies all conditions for a close up magic effect. It uses ordinary objects in a way that doesn't seem conceivable. To us, it is as close to perfect as anything can be in this fallible world." That's what Bruce Elliot had to say about Dr. Sack's Amazing Dice Routine when it was first published in the Phoenix magazine back in 1948, and you're about to find out why. With Dr. Sack's Amazing Dice Trick you will baffle your audience as the spots on a pair of dice mysteriously travel back and forth with no explanation, no matter how hard they watch. You'll even be able to make the spots visibly jump from cube to cube! This video contains a live performance followed with step-by-step instruction-including the necessary moves, which dice work best and more, with shots from the audience's and performer's point of view. If you've ever wanted to learn the classic Dr. Sack's Dice Routine, look no further than this video. |
