Hello Everyone, I need some help from you, I've been through the Modern Coin magic Book from Bobo, and I've been practising some of the vanishes explained there, but I couldn't find a multiple coin vanish, for example if I had to vanish four coins all together, how could I do that, I know I can vanish multiple coins with the french drop all togheter but I don't like this vanish.
Some of you could tell me if there is some multiple coin vanishes to learn or how can I do if I want to vanish for example three or four coins all together. Thank you very much MAGO68

Isn't there a multiple coin false transfer in Modern Coin Magic? Yep. Just checked. Page 45 of the paperback version.

Gary Kurtz has some nice multiple coin vanishes in his "Trio" routine in his book "Unexplainable Acts", and his routine "Misty Like a Dream" (pretty much the same as Trio) in his video "Creating Magic".
They are sleight of hand concealments. Of course to really vanish multiple coins, just like really vanishing one coin, some type of pocket ditch, sleeve, holdout, topit, lap, etc. needs to be employed. With multiple coins they will of course talk, so you need to load them into some type of coin clip or concealed container before you get rid of them. Unless you just quietly press them into the bottom of your pocket as you go for another prop. Dan |

Bobo's has the heads and tails vanish. Used it a couple of times, with great success. only need a couple of hours to master. No one believes you can take four large coins
from under their nose without making a noise.
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.

Rune Klan (sp) has a nice 4 stacked coin transfer while showing both hands empty..
And I have toyed around with the idea of applying a bit of wax to the coins.. not much, but just enough to where when you have the coins in a stack, you can giv-em a squeeze and they should stick together.. Thus making the topit, sleeve, pocket..or wherever you decide to ditch the coins.. completely silent...the wax would probably limit your handling, but its an idea. C-Ya Tom

I am working on a Retention Coin vanish with two coins - placing two overlapping (not stacked) coins into one hand and trying to retain them on the fingertips of the other.
It's tricky, but I think it will be worth the effort. After I master 2 coins, I'll try to progress to 3... Might be worth trying out.

OK, thank you very much for your help, but Actually I don't need to vanish the coins and show my hands empty and continue with another effect, I've been reading the Vernon's five coins and the glass of wine routine, when you produce five coins from the air, you make them travel to the glass one by one, and then you, make them dissapear, and reproduce them behind of a silk in a coin star position.
I make this to dissapear the coins: First coin, I place in the classic palm position in the right hand palm up, and simulate to drop it into the other hand actually palming the coin, the second one, I do a retention of vision vanish and slowly classic palm the coin, the third one the same as the second one, then I take the glass witht the two coins inside and shake it while I transfer the classic palmed coins into the finger palm position, then I take the two coins I display both hands empty with the Ramsey subtelty, and make a french drop with both coins at the same time, finger palming them in the right hand with the others. Then I reproduce them behind the silk. The problem I have with this vanishes is the noise the coins do when they hit each other. That is what gives the secret away. MAGO68

If you are going to be palming coins on each other it helps very much to use worn "soft" coins. Just go to a coin dealer and see if he has any old worn coins.

In an issue of Appocolypse their was an idea of producing coins 1 at a time from a stack. The stack being held together with a rubberband and secretly placed on the back of the hand. I always thought this had potential to be done in reverse as a vanish. But never played with it. I am not sure what issue it was either.

Mago,
I believe that in the Vernon routine, the coins are all vanished using the same retention vanish, one after the other. The effect of this sequence is really very strong, and I would urge you to try the original handling. Also, the noise problem is solved by the Vernon for all but the last coin. I don't recall the silk being used for the formation of the star. I know it's not necessary, although it might be an interesting presentation of he flourish. For multiple coins vanishes, try the click pass to Downs palm. I know it's in Buckley's "Principles and Deceptions" and it may be in Bobo's, in the Downs section.

There is a multiple coin vanish in Paul Gertner's Steel and Silver. I think it is called the M.C.A Vanish and Change (off the top of my head). It is a vanish of a stack of coins, and it requires lapping. It is also a change (not that much of a surprise from the title).
