I am looking for suggestions for final loads (besides liquid in shot glass) for stage version of egg bag. I am using Lynetta Welch's beautiful prop.
My preference would be something that would expand, to look bigger than the bag when produced. Thanks for your ideas! Lou |

Rubber chicken works well with this theme. You will have to switch the bag for a duplicate or steal the load. The chicken can be rolled and the bill tucked in one of the wraps. So you have a ball shape.

I find the LOOK on the lady spectator's face when she reaches in to find the egg is pretty hard to beat.
I believe McComb produced a real live chicken at the end of his routine. Mullica a large glass of liquor. Glenn Haywood had a KILLER routine with the production of two shot glasses filled with liquid. The byplay with the two guys helping him was priceless, but you had to be like Glenn to pull it off.

I perform the Martin Lewis routine. I agree that the look on the spectator's face, when she pulls the egg from the empty bag, is priceless. It was enough for me to win a magic competition, when that was the only routine I performed.

The ideas are all great. I'm aware of them from seeing different routines. Pete, any ideas about producing a live chicken?

At the risk of sounding unoriginal, I vote for the look on the spectator's face. It really sells the trick and doesn't take away from the simple premise.

Don't know if this too cheesy nowadays, but many years ago I used to get a great reaction with a routine wherein I fumbled and "broke" the egg inside the bag, then passed it over a candle and pulled out a rubber fried egg. Am I dating myself?

IF doing the thing with a golfball instead of an egg you can produce a golfclub (remodled apearing cane).

I am just starting on the egg bag and my understanding is that Lynetta Welch's is based on the Malini type of bag. From Charlie Miller's "The Malini Egg Bag" it states that a B**** Egg should be used.
From the comments above wouldn't the spectator notice that something was different about the egg?

Most magic shops now carry a smaller rubber chicken. If you do not have a favorite dealer email
http://www.stoners.com I have not checked but it may be on their web site. |

Magic city's (i think that's who it is) little book on the egg bag talks about an idea I like of having multiple final loads like a square egg, a golden egg, and an egg that looked like in the drawing that it would kill a poor hen but it just specualtes on one possible method and is not very clear, but it does seem to imply that they are loaded in all at once like in another bag or something, let me know if you have any other suggestions I'm kinda trying to get a modern egg bag routine together myself

Y'er Welcome... been using it for 45 years or more.
Want a better line? After something like knot off rope... give it to a lady and say, "When you get home tonight put this under your pillow... and no matter where you are... I'll find you!" If I was still a working pro I wouldn't have posted this.

Hey,
Try the Fakini Egg climax, its a huge hollowed out egg that works perfect with the egg bag. You figure out the magic to it, if you need his number let me know. Evan |
