I got this trick 3 days ago and all I can say is this trick truely sucks!!!
I'm having so many problems with the gimmick that there is no possible way to ever actually use this trick. The directions are so short & undetailed that not one of the large list of problems I have even come close to being addressed. Even if I manage to figure out how to cope with one or two of the problems I'm having, there are so many other problems that this trick would still be unusable. If you are thinking about buying this trick, save your money. I'm now out over $20 and I would still be mad even if this trick only cost $5... |

I second your opinion. I also hated this item. Within five minutes I placed this in the trash and decided to join The Magic Café.
Now I can at least try and do a better researching job on the effects that I'm interested in. If your interested in a flaming book, there is one listed at http://www.elmwoodmagic.com. I'm not sure if this is the exact name of the effect, but it did get some good reviews here at The Magic Café. Go to Elmwood to get the exact name and do a quick search here at The Café to find the reviews. I don't have the effect yet, but I plan on getting it next summer. Good luck with future purchases. |

Let me offer a suggestion about tricks like this in general. They are best left on the shelf as collector's items.
The question is -- where are you going to use them? If you use something like a flaming book or a flaming wallet in a venue in Las Vegas, guess what? It will cost you $10,000.00!!!!! That's right! You can't even set off a piece of flash paper in Las Vegas. You can use this at a private party in someone's home, without fear of repercussions, but in public venues, such as restaurants and night clubs, tricks with open flames are rapidly becoming verboten. And using one of these in a kiddie show is a definite no-no.
