I am at the end of my rope. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

I have tried a few fabric stores and haven't been able to find burgandy, green or black velveteen cord. The one I had been using was tubular and velvet like.

I did find some on eBay called velveteen rope trimming. Anyone know of any other source?

I used it for ring on string routines back in the 70's and 80's. I showed it to someone recently, and it played fairly well. I had planned to share it at a wedding reception last weekend. Then my cord disappeared.

Thanks in advance.

Check with Upholstery suppliers, and when you hit the fabric store, look in the fancy trim section. It is not part of the regular binding and cording stuff. If you have a mall bit to show the folks in the store that will help.

In a pinch, the Soutach cord, in larger diameter and Satin works nicely too.

That's awfully pricey for this stuff. You can usually get it for about a buck a yard at places like Hancock Fabric, Jo-Ann's or Cloth World.

As previously mentioned, look in the "trims."

I bought the last of what a local sewing shop had and divided it up amongst the boys for a workshop meeting. Next month went back to buy more and was told that it was no longer in production.

Do you have a "Michael's" craft store nearby? They are great for stuff like that, as well as faux fruit for cups & balls final loads and any number of other things that will help you out. The only limit is your needs and your imagination!

Michaels is a great source for props.
They did not have the velveteen rope when I last checked. I did get 20 yards from an Ebay seller last week.

Be safe and creative.

I was looking for the same thing and thought sure it would be a piece of cake to find....NOT
None of the craft stores I checked have it nor Walmart or Jo Anns Fabrics.
I finally bought a yard of the material and was going to try and make my own...this should be funny.
Glad you found some Harris.

Try ebay. I bought some from a seller.(I got burgandy)

10 yards for $4.00 plus shipping.

It was a little thicker in diameter than I was used to but it does work.

Thanks Harris,
I appreciate that. I did a search and must have typed something wrong cause that never came up.
I hope they have more of the burgundy.
Thanks again
