I've been studying these manuscripts by Banachek. Can anyone share their experiences when they first tried either effect. I love bold effects, however Psychokinetic time (more so than psychokinetic touches) Has me hesitant. Thanks for your comments

That's interesting, it's usually the touches that most find difficult to pull off.
I use Banacheks handling from the manuscript, it works great for me, I actually perform it quite a lot, the first time I ever performed it was for a friend and though he was suspicious it got by him, I've not had any one suspicious since, I think it was down to my own suspicious attitude the first time, I wasn't sure it was going to go down as well as it did. I, too, was hesitant about using Banacheck's Psychokinetic Time at first. Especially when the chance for me to first try it out in the real world was with a good, yet skeptical, friend's watch. But when I saw the look on his face afterwards, I knew it worked like a charm. This friend would have made sure he told me if he saw or suspected anything - he's done so on other effects - but this one floored him.
The only thing I could suggest would be to think of all the other bold methods of various effects that work. Just make sure you have everything down from the manuscript and choose the right group of spectators and just the right time (pun intended) and let the boldness help you!

For a visual performance of the effect you may want to check out Richard Osterlind's Mind Mysteries Volume 2, the bonus section has a performance of the effect in it, as far as I can recall that is.
I was hesitant to perform these after my first read, but seeing them performed really changed all that and I just went out and did it. I hope this helps Kennedy

I was hesitant, but after seeing it performed (bonus section in Osterlind DVD as Kennedy said), I tried it and it worked perfectly.

PK touch is brilliant however never perform it twice to the same person or persons.

Thanks for the input. I performed pk time today for my partner. He was impressed but afterwoods said that I must have fiddled with the stem. Again, he was still impressed.

Gareth123, I hate to do this but I have to disagree with you on your point about not repeating the effect on the same person/persons. I have performed this for people and been forced to use the same spectators over again (I was working a party and it was the same crowd, to be brief) and it still worked a dream. The misdirection is so strong and they are looking for some secret device or some sneaky business which never comes.
You can also use linguistics to pull on the previous demonstration such as "They were stronger this time weren't they" and "You really did feel them, right?" This really confirms the thoughts in the minds of the spectators. You could also switch methods and say use, Kenton's method in the place of Banachek's for a repeat, or even Kuffs' method. Kind thoughts, Kennedy

I've even performed it on a single person with no one else watching, there is something impressive to them when they look around and see that you're actually standing at the other end of the hall.

I love the PK touch but I have had a few bad experiences with it.
Like when they say "I felt something touch me then I heard footsteps" Has this happened to any of you? Gareth.

I have to say I havent had this ever. I think you need to perhaps re-consider or re-model the questioning you are employing and look at how you perhaps manage your spectator. You should have it so that they will answer the question you ask directly and not add anything to the answers. If you ask "and what did you feel?" they should just say "taps on my right shoulder" and nothing more.
I would re-consider my scripting if I were you, its one of those things that once you find it, it works a treat. I hope this helps, Kind thoughts, Kennedy

I'm a very quiet mover, naturally, secondly if I think there could be a chance of this I have music on the shield any possible noise. Music will always shield any suspect noise from any thing at all, I often use it to cover noisy props also, it's a very practical solution.

I also have this problem on an occasion and I try my hardest to be as quiet as possible but sometimes it's just not possible. Regardless of the line of questioning, if they can have anything to orient them time-wise they should figure it out and when people are amazed they aren't and even if they don't say anything during the presentation they WILL explain this later on when they are asked...and they WILL be asked. The fun of the effect is hearing the spec CONVINCED that they were touched. So, they want to ask him/her themselves!
Music can be a huge mistake if there is anything that can allow them to orient themselves time-wise. I very well might add music, but it will be more of a background "noise" than a song. It needs to be non-eventful and repetitive so the whole song sounds basically the same. Jonathan Grant |

I actually have them march in place when I do this. I tell them to focus on their marching, but also notice any other experience that might happen on their body.

Marching wouldn't work for me, but I thought about having them humming.
BTW, here's a GREAT idea for those that really feel this is a problem. Have them cover their ears. You have them close their eyes, it makes sense to have them cover their ears so they can concentrate on what they "feel". The only problem for me is that I use the shoulders and that can be a tricky situation because of their body position. If you don't mind adjusting to that it would work fine I think. Jonathan Grant |

Pk time kills, I have been performing this piece slightly different to that of Banachek's for a long time now, over the years there have been some people who have inquired whether they could perform it with the watch face in view all the time, I took this and worked on a method, this is the convincer I use afterwards if need be... it is powerful

Pk Touches is an awesome thing to do. I always use it as a side effect for something else. If I want to repeat the pk touch I use Yigal Mesika invisible loop and touch the lady's wrist while her eyes are closed. She says I touched her and everybody sees I didn't.

Thanks for the feedback. I performed Pk time twice now. Both times the spectator picked the lowest number possible, after I saif that that was too easy pick a larger number they came with in minutes of the force time. This is a fun routine. I just need the practiceto better my flow. I don't do arithmetic very quickly in my head.
