Who created OLEC or OLEP and are there rights to this illusion or is it open game to market new versions? I have some new ideas as far as the cage and would like to know the legalities to this illusion before going further with this project.
Thank you, Bryan |

It's a really old routine, it's been around forever and it seems to shadow dove magicians like a dog to a mail man. Everyone at some point had done it or something similar. Even way back to Copperfield when he was doing doves in like the 60s and then put it on his special in the 70s. Its pretty much open game, plus if you're doing something different you can call it whatever you want and it won't matter. Just do it. Its like just because someone comes up with new handeling on a torn and restored newspaper doesn't mean that they have to go before Gene Anderson to be able to do it. Good luck with it,

This is even older then sperris mentions. It is discribed in an old book. I cannot recall the name of the book. It may be Our Magic or Magic with Apparatus. These books do not have any illustrations in them.
If you have a totally new version. Then by all means make it up and see if it works. Then go from there. No there are not any plans for the current versions. Sean Farquers is a professional cruise ship entertainer and has made a version that uses a tray. See it at http://www.magichampion.com/ |

Using parakeets is an old concept, Tannen's used to sell a few books on them as well as Abbott's back in the day I believe as well as some aparatus utilizing them. There was a hawaiian magician, I forget his name, who used a lot of different kinds of birds including lots of parakeets. I saw a video of it from I'd say late 70s early 80s and there was also a magician from Mexico who used them and they sort of became his trademark, his name slips my mind right now too, I think he used to make some bags and stuff for parakeets.

The tailor/magician you are trying to think of is Ramon Galindo. He has a book and 2 Videos out by the same name on parakeets. Stevens Magic has the videos.
http://www.stevensmagic.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=364 Do a search on http://www.stevensmagic.com and they have other videos as well. I remember the advertisement about the magician that performed in Hawaii. He ran an ad for a parakeets on finger production. I never ordered it and nothing has been written about him since the old Genii review and his ad. He was not Hawaiian, but performed in a club there. Anyone know if this guy is still around? |
