Hi,

I decided to purchase this book, I heard some people said that this book the effects in it are very easy to perform but NOT IMPRESSIVE enough?

Is that sounds true? Smile

Thanks!

Best Wishes,
Andrew Loh

Andrew,

The material in this book is excellent. There are gems, but you must entertain and present them with your own performance style. You won't be disappointed.

Andrew,
My very favorite card book. Who said "Not Impressive" ?
Nick Trost relies more on sublety than sleights.
This is a great book.

It's a GREAT book. If you are looking for finger flinging, look elsewhere. If you are looking for interesting, diabolical performance pieces which will deceive as well as engage, then this is the book for you.

And yes, there are some TRUE gems in here.

I think it's a terrific book. I'm especially fond of his 10 Card Poker Deal.

What I also like about it is the fact there
are so many routines and packet tricks that
earlier have been marked as separate items.

Apart from all the routines the list of sources is
nice if you, as me, are interested in "Trostiania".

I recently ordered this after much hype at our Circle meeting, so I am hoping it lives up to it!

The Trost book is actually my favorite card book. Try some of these gems out,
1 - Matched Picture Crads - pg 49
2 - Seven Card Draw Prediction - pg 123
3 - Subtle Location ( Gilbreath ) - pg 137
4 - Intuition - pg 161
5 - Reset - pg 172
6 - Nick's Stranger in Paradise - pg 189

Let me know what you think.

Hi folks,

Are there many packet tricks?

Is it this book quite similar to Phil Goldstein's FOCUS book??

There are packet tricks, some good ones too, but the majority is not. There is even a section on ESP card magic. It is an excellent book, it was a very quick seller when it was first released. As someone said, quite a few of the effects had been sold on there own previously. Great value.
The book is about twice as thick as "Focus".

I had to read this a couple times before I figured out what -- I think -- Paul was saying. I think he means that there are some packet tricks and some good ones, but most of the tricks AREN'T packet tricks.

(As opposed to saying that most of the packet tricks in the book aren't good.)

Sorry, Paul, I'm an editor and sometimes I just can't help myself. Smile Thanks for your comments. I've always been interested in this book but have never connected with a copy.

Hi,

For me, most important thing is the book's effects I can use and perform and can get amzing results from the audience.

Some books I found that which utilise mathematical principle, sometimes the audience can figure it out.

I don't have any idea whether the card magic of Nick Trost in this book effect whether utilise mathematical principle or not????

Best,
Andrew Loh

He does use some, such as the Gilbreath Principle, but it's usually well hidden. I would just get the book...it's excellent.
