A tv production company want me to help teach a woman (who has some basic magic ability) some new effects (ideally sleight of hand)for a 30 second trailer. Any suggestions. Nothing too complicated as I only have a short time to teach her and get it mastered. Something simple but very impressive...The shoot is taking place towards the end of the month so time is running out fast!!!

When I only have 30 seconds to impress someone, I use a few color changes. Erdnase, Snap change, and Shapeshifter especially. Maybe this could work, depending on her level of expertise.

Keep it simple. 100 dollar bill switch? Quick sponge ball routine?

Is IT out of the question? Float a dollar bill. Massively easy to teach and a very quick trick. How about lite flite? Only a little harder.

Hi guys, that's loads to go on. I have the script from the production team. I'm very confident I can give them what they want. Some great ideas, thanks to all. I can't say much at the moment, it's under wraps until it's released. Then I'll let you know what happened.

Derek, I would have suggested something like "matrix", or even David Roth's "chink a chink" coin routine ... color changes, and thread work can be easily taught, but it takes a lot of time and effort in order to perform these items flawlessly.

Why don't you just do the trailer? lol

Stick to visual: Color Changes, PK Effects, Bill Switches (Hundy 500), and Flourishes.

Kinesis, if you only have 30 seconds, I can't imagine anything better than the Splash Bottle production.

Presto Chango is short sweet and very visual...also basic in technique...it can be found in Bobo's...check it out.

I would stick to visual things that are easy to teach, like cig through quarter, vanishing hank in tt, etc.

Svengali Deck Routine.
Simple Sponge Ball Routine

And finally ask her what she knows and work to enhance it!

Did you saw Brad Christian Commercial it's about 30 second! He used very interesting tricks!
You know when they film everything and edit it they will have a 30sec trailer!
I sugest her some:
Hummer Card
Shapeshifter Change
Classic color change
Fan and Close one hand
Spead and turn over spread!
Butterfly cut's etc...
What is it about (Trailer)?
