Best book I have read in a long time.
I have been waiting for this to come out for almost a year now, and I am certainly pleased with the end result. Not only is the content excellent, but the quality of production is excellent as well. Good font size, and well written by Mr.Duffie. The routines are generally quite easy, but will require practice. The majority of the book is dedicated to Dave's card creations, however a chapter is given over at the end of the book to tricks using coins, silks and other things. Money certainly well spent. Buy it. You won't regret it! If you don't already have some fakes, in particular blank faces, blank backs and double blanks, you should also order these to avail of some brilliant routines in the book.

Nice this is finally out. I believe Peter penned this over a decade ago. Along with the Fred Robinson book..

The Dave Campbell Legacy is quite simply the most exciting book on close up magic (mainly cards)that I've read in a long time, if not ever. The tricks are incredible, just incredible and it's an unbelievably easy book to read. Whoever wrote it and did the layout deserves a medal.
Just buy this book it's amazing and you won't regret it. Only available from International Magic (I think). Go in and ask Jerry to show you any of the effects like: Cards Across, Joker Special, The Traveller, About Turn, or just any of them. Apparently it was Jerrys idea in the first place to publish this material, so thank you Jerry! An utterly superb book full of absolutely stunning stuff |

Yes, I endorse all of the above comments. My magic library is extensive (200 +) and yet there are a few books that are looked at time and time again. The Dave Campbell Legacy will be one of them. Buy it!

Today, I read the book from the first page to 78 (which page is printed as page 76), and found many interesting information and good tricks.
Fusion (Page 37) As I dislike to use DF in 'Annivsersaly Walt', I felt comfortable to find similar effect in which signs get fusion on a normal card. Dave's Premonition (Page 47) It is intersting to know Eddie Joseph's famous 'Premonition' has realtion with Hofzinser's 'Domination of Thoughts'. Leap Frog (Page 57) The effect of Alan Brown's famous 'Black Widow' has been invented by Tom Sellers in 1943. It predates 26 years to Brown version. Automatic Speller (Page 63) Combination of Free Cut Principle and Spell is superb. Wonderful creation. Snap (Page 69) It is a valuable information to know Karl Fulves' 'Gemini Twins' was published as 'Stopped Twice' in "Impromputu Opener" in 1979. It might be possible that Mr.Campbell's idea of using two odd backed cards influenced Lennart Green's trick. Enveloped (Page 75) In explanation of this trick, you can find Jacob Daley's sleight of switching card. The sleight is interesting as it is easy version of Top Change and Second Deal at the same time. Inspired by this reading, I created 3 variations. One of them is a strong one I believe I can use it for a TV appearance. I am very much looking forward to read the rest of the book. I can't wait to finish today's work. I thank Mr.Duffie for authouring this wonderful book. Hideo Kato |

Hi folks,
Yes, there is one interesting problem on the page of 182 under the effect name called "The Traveller" which that page was blank page. Guys, what do you think/perceive how that particular effect would be continued????? Hi Andrew
If you want to work out the finish yourself, do not read any more of this post! For others, here is the missing text from page 181 of the Dave Campbell Legacy. ...and count the cards one-at-a-time onto the table showing four blanks. Finally, take the card from under the clip revealing this to the Ace.

May I know the level of difficulty that is needed for this book?
I heard you need to know some palms, like a diagonal palm shift??? any passes? riffle stacks? bottom deals? |

Some of the routines are self working as well.
I was very impressed with the quality of magic in this book. The book is quite attractive as well. However, there are some errors on the inside. Missing paragraphs, for example. I was dissappointed to see that I had paid as much as I did and I caught a lot of the errors within the first hour of reading. Oh well. Highly recommended. Something for everybody. |

Sorry to be a party pooper...but I feel that this book is way over-hyped.
Everyone is on about how great this book is, so I went to get a copy... but the tricks just did not seem so appealing to me so far. I read bout half the book, and I didn't find it to live up to its reputation (or hype, rather)...hopefully the other half will be better |
