I was wondering if there are any new books that will be published before Christmas. I have heard that John Bannon is due to have a book published shortly, is there any news?

The new biography of Alexander is out from Mike Caveney's Magic Words and (according to a friend) it's quite a fascinating read. There was a presentation on it given at MAGIC Live and to say that Alexander lead an interesting life would be wildly understating the case. It's the sort of story that Hollywood would deem "too implausible", yet it's all true and documented.

As for the long (and very eagerly awaited) Bannon book, Dear Mr. Fantasy, alas, no word on a release date yet. Rumor had it that John was hoping to release it at the 2004 F.F.F.F., but that never materialized. So, from being a highly anticpated 2004 release, it looks like it'll be a highly anticipated 2005 release.

I hope the Ascanio book comes out in the new year just after Christmas. That would be a great late present.

Does anyone know what the contents are in Dave Campbell's new book, "Legacy"? Is it mainly cards or coins? Can someone advise?

There has been a post about the campbell book, it is really brilliant. It is mainly card stuff with one or two coin tricks.

And some cheering news for those of us who have been awaiting the long-scheduled book on the magic of Fred Robinson. Martin Breese recently posted on the Genii Forum that it now looks like it'll have a February or March release date.

And I'm still hoping for the Tom Stone book to be released by Hermetic Press sometime early next year...

John Bannon's new book is the biggest lie I've heard since, Richard Kaufmann told me that he'll think about reprinting Greater Magic.It is just not going to happen.
