I recently saw Jim Pace demo this when he came up for a local convention. This thing is put together very well. It is a great idea for lighting the fire. He said he was afraid that people would steal this great idea and that other companies would make more money off of it.

Derek, "Now there you go again" is a quote from former president Ronald Reagan and it seems to fit here.
Derek...my friend although not mis qouted I feel I am mis represented. I said, "You watch Derek, people will steal this idea." "All fire wallets and fire books will pirate this system, I am almost afraid to sell it." I was refering to the new wicking system that I use for keeping the wick wet on fire wallets. It will happen I know it. The idea is too simple and too good. My electric ignition has been used for years. Jim

Ah yes, now I remember correctly heh... I am not an expert on fire wallets so forgive me. I never knew that electronic starters were that popular on wallets. I thought that the vast majority of them were the less reliable flint wheel.

Mystician will have to correct me if I'm wrong, last time I saw him he showed me a lot of stuff, but I think the volcano wallet was one of the tricks he showed me.
Looked awesome to me, as did Jim's electric igniting comic fire book... I love that thing, and its so tiny you can put it in any book or conceal it in any object really. the ignition and power source are really ingenious for that thing. BTW Jim, I think the force of a flash blew apart one of my sparkle flashes... Any chance of getting a repacement head or something? Steven |

Steven, yep, that was the volcano wallet.
"Master Flash" is an awesome concept, I'm surprised it hasn't sold more, not to mention it's modular nature, which gives it a flexibility to be used in all sorts of applications. Jim, I noticed on my older master flash, the ..err.. ignition component doesn't get nearly as redhot as on the newer model, is that due to a different battery ? It kicks butt, like the volcano wallet's system does. Actually, my clip has gotten loose on my sparkle flash as well, but I might try reheating the heat shrink tubing first and see if I can get a little more constriction out of it. If not, I have all kinds of HS tubing, I'll just rebuild the thang.

It is the same battery...probably a lot newer. It could be the gauge of the ni chrome. Not really sure. Jim

Okey-doke thanks. It still works, even though it doesn't get as hot.
I might try hot-rodding it a little ;-) Wouldn't it be swell if watch batteries came in higher voltages than 3V ? I guess their life expectancy would be shot to h*** though. As to the future of batteries, two words: Fuel Cell !

Hey Phanga,
This may seem strange for you. But if you received a brand new wallet I believe that you will feel just fine. All fire wallets look ugly after many months of use. I would rather have a brand new one after my battery wore out. Listen the way I make them now you can just change the battery. If I seel the battery by itself the cost is still $19.95. This battery is used for many of my products. So when you battery wears down let me know what you would like to do. jimpacemagic@msn.com
