Hi I need some advice please
I have just been asked to 'MC' at a charity Function (for disabled kids) and the host has asked that I perform some 'Psychological Entertainment' for the adults just before I introduce the next guest. Now I have a few ideas including the Chair selection from Pre Thoughts and a drawing dupe using the Symbology Pack(possibly), but is there any type effects that I should steer clear of and do you have any advice or experience doing this kind of thing. By the way the Children will be entertained by a kids entertainer. thanks in advance. lyndon |

If I were to MC I would go for less magic and more p[resentaton and comedy etc. I have a good friend who is an excellent MC and he always performs one routine between each segment and fills it cout with patter and stuff. He is a very entertaining guy and therefore he doesn't seem to be milking the effect dry,
I hope this helps. Kennedy (not Mr, just Kennedy)

When you are MC-ing, remember that the show is not about you. It's about the acts and their relationship to one another and to themselves. Do not do a big routine right before the first act goes on. Make whatever preliminary announcements need to be made, welcome the audience and introduce the first act.
Don't feel like you have to give the audience a complete show between acts. Find out how long it takes for each act to set up, allow a few extra seconds, and use a routine that long as your filler. If they want you to do a "turn," do a turn as a separate segment. A good place for this is while the most complex act is setting up behind the curtain. Do things you can work in one. Steer clear of any kind of danger trick a child might want to do at home.
