The Search for the Elusive Butterfly Continues...
When last I made this request to another message board, the response was utterly under-whelming. However, I have this idea that there is someone out there that can tell me precisely where to find this little ditty rather than having to recreate the wheel myself. So, here goes: I have seen from time-to-time a unique give-a-way that I very much desire to incorporate into my marketing efforts. To be specific, it is a butterfly cutout that is colorful on one side and has the performer’s contact information printed on the other. When two pennies are placed into slits that are positioned on the butterfly’s upper wings they act as counter balances. When the head of the butterfly is placed on the extended forefinger it appears as though a butterfly is resting on one’s fingertip. Well, let me tell you...every kid wants one! It is a fantastic way to ensure that everyone goes home with my contact information permanently imprinted on a unique and fun toy. If you’ve seen one, have one, use one, or know someone that does, I would be most grateful to you if I could provide me with information as to how I can get my hands on one. Thank you. Hi Tim,
I just came on to this forum to ask about exactly the same thing - I've just read about the balancing butterflies in an old Magigram and fancied the idea. So I just did a search on Google for 'balancing butterflies' and found lots of help. Try these sites: http://www.smm.org/sln/tf/s/symmetry/symmetry.html http://www.enchantedlearning.com/crafts/butterfly/balancer/ Cheers, Bill

Tim,
You are right they are cool. I remember getting one from Arnold Furst. Don't know where he got them though. He gave me one about 1977 or 1978. It was already pre-cut and the slits were already cut out as well. Hope this helps and good luck, Ed Fultz |

What an awesome idea!
This I will definately use as I am always looking for new interactive ideas for my business cards. (http://www.madjik.co.nz/trading.htm) I think I will get them printed as a large square shape business card that so the children can cut out the butterfly shape themselves.
