I believe that these are not going to start shipping from Hocus-Pocus until Dec 15. I have one on order and have seen that a few others are awaiting theirs.
Have received a PM from the creator and he seems to believe sincerely and strongly in this product. I probably will not post a review immediately upon receipt of the product as it is my opinion that this would be premature until I have had a chance to road test for awhile. Had I posted a review upon receiving Xpert, my review would have been lukewarm. After having had a chance to work with it in a corporate strolling environment my review is !WOW! . Don't forget that no method is perfect short of really being able to bend a coin with the power of your mind. Each method is going to have its strengths and weaknesses. There is always some form of trade-off or downside when considering one method vs. another. Best Wishes, Keith |

Greetings,
Hocus Pocus Magic will have Invisbender in-stock tomorrow 12/15/04. If you have pre-ordered from us, it will be shipped the same day. Thanks for your patience. Just an FYI -- We are going to receive a limited amount of Invisibender this first shipment. So, if you would like to get one, place your order soon! Thanks,
Jason London

You're welcome Neil, and thank you for the great reactions I have been getting with the XPert. So many of my magic purchases, of late, have been disappointments but this one helped to balance the scale.
As for Invisibender, I messed up. In my order to Hocus-Pocus I had requested a rush delivery. When they realized that I did not understand that it would not be available until Dec 15, they tried several times to contact me to make sure I still wanted the order if I couldn't have the product immediately (VM gets checked only infrequently at my house). The bottom line is that I have already allocated those magic $ toward other products and am guessing the initial batch of Invisibender will sell out before I get back to Hocus-Pocus. Apologies to anyone waiting on me for a review. Please note that Hocus-Pocus behaved exactly as I would have hoped in this situation. This is what puts them head-and-shoulders above most other magic dealers. Best Wishes, Keith |

Is another device needed to bend keys? I have seen several marketed over the last couple of years. It may be a fine prop, if not a bit duplicitous.
Oh well, break a quarter! |

Certainly, if the market will bear it. Since when has need been an issue? Best Wishes, Keith |

You really don't need specific gimmicks for bending one thing or another.
Metal bending is an "approach" not a variety of gimmicks. Metal Bending is also 99% presentation and only 1% gimmick or technique. I'm not plugging my own product, but simply drawing your attention to a book that I really feel is a must if you want to understand this specialized branch of our art. try to locate GELLERISM REVEALED. It was published by Hades and all of the bigger dealers will be able to order it in. James Randi called this book THE bible of metal bending and even Uri Geller references it on his website. Suffice to say, the book was written after a decade of studying the art of metal bending and details the real work, both physically and psychologically. Even if you feel you still want to use gaffs, the material in this book will help you to understand the real powers behind the effect. Impact, Impact! Cheers Ben Harris

Michele,
Thanks for the response. I have been PM'ed by another Café member who advised me of the same info. Much appreciated. Ben, Thanks very much for the post. You are of course quite right that presentation is the essense of any effect. I've always believed that a good effect is at least 95% presentation. I have no quarrel with your proposition that metal bending at least is 99% presentation. Thanks for the reference to the Gellerism Revealed book. Mike

I have tried out most of the gimmicks on the market just for fun (including invisbender). The only one I use is Guy Bavli's bender. Other than that Ben is right, it's all in the approach. Thanks Ben for writing that book! |
