Phew....breathes a sigh of relief... I'm glad you said that Jon. I worry when reviewing things. I feel a sense of responsibility that what I say must be subjective and accurate. Luckily Sleight of Mind seems to be going down very well!
Did anybody get anything outstanding for Xmas in the way of effects that they could recommend? Have a Happy New Year everyone!!!!! |

I got it, have had had chance to give it a first read and loved it.
If you want it summing up in a nutshell, it's difficult, but here goes... If you read Reminiscence and thought: "That's clever, I can really use that", then this book is probably for you. If you read it and thought (a) "What a load of tosh" or (b) didn't need to read it because you already worked out your own way of doing it then it probably isn't. There. One nutshell. No crackers
Yet again that oaf has destroyed my day

By reminiscence do you mean the Derren Brown effect with a photo?

Having read all of the reviews, I'll bet that there will be lot's of second hand copies up for grabs in the next 6 months. This sort of approach has appeared in literature many times over the years. As someone has already commented, NLP seems to be the current flavour at the moment. what's here today will soon be gone tommorrow. Unfortunately, the magic ball is rolling at an unceasing pace due to the digital revolution. This has it's good side as well as it's down side.

Adore this book, reading it through a second time. Can anyone who has this recommend more books like it ?
Also, I got the excellent Paul Ekman Cds, before this was released. A newspaper article said that Microsoft had bought 400 copies, and that wherever Microsoft go others tend to follow. |

If you want to learn NLP at home email me at rex@amazingrex.com
I have a persuasion/influence home study program. Lot's of great learning - manual and audio tapes. I will send an email with details to those who email me. Put "how to get people to do what you want" in the subject header and I will send you the email right away. |

I don't think so, depending on some peoples quality of vision maybe. Thankfully I have an average 20/20.

No Probs teejay, basically the Cd is a training software programme. Very quick to load and very simple to use. It focuses on the seven emotions which are universal to everyone, and the associated expressions that are made by these either intentionaly or not. These expressions are universal also to every culture, and once going through the basic level or advanced depending on how many you get correct, you WILL become extremely familiar and able to detect or notice these Micro-Expressions up-to at least 1/25th of a second. The programme is very well arranged, it uses real photos of people of all nationalities. The programme takes about 2 hrs to complete, and I did both levels. I found some of the Asian expressions harder to pinpoint, but am ok now. Obviously you can repeat the exercises when ever you like. Paul Ekmans book Emotions Revealed which I am still reading is a good accompaniment also.

I found Sleight' to be a little gem that I'm going to hang onto. Eckman's stuff is also very, very useful and interesting. Required reading!:) CarlD |

RATS!!! I'm back in this country after a very long sojourn in a cheap hotel( okay, a hut, give or take a board or two and a bit of wallpaper)in Nth Qeensland, so I'm out of touch. I got Sleight of Mind and a pile of other books on my return to the UK and thought I'd be the first to review it, but now I see everybody's already seen it!:) Okay, maybe I'm not the first or even the best person to review it, but this book is AWESOME!!! I learned more in two days with this than I have with the 12 other books I had in Oz with me for nearly a year. I can't fault it at all and would recommend it for anybody with even the slightest interest in Mentalism.
Wish I'd had net connection in the bush, this is a great forum. Does anybody like Derren Brown ever get in here to pass comment? I've tried to get the drift with the other threads here, but I can't seem to narrow down the latest releases to two or three really S***t hot effects. Anybody have any opinions on what to get that's anything a bit different from the usual? See yas' SGC |

Any chance of somebody doing a review of it, i.e. for what reasons is it good?
