A good book. Published by Supreme Magic back in 1980, and a surprise to Ken when it appeared. It was a collection of Ken's material from when he worked with Harry Stanley of Unique Magic. Includes close up, visual gags and his handling for things like Linking Rings and Multiplying Bottles.

Paul,
Thanks for the info. I recently won the book from an auction and was not completely sure what I was getting and could not find anything on any search sight.Sounds like you like it which is good enough for me.

If you can find it, "Ken Brookes's Magic Place" is a great companion to the "Unique Years", and you might also enjoy the 2-cassette Brooke interview plus booklet by Patrick Page and distributed by Martin Bresse called, "It's Better Than Digging Roads", still available at many magic shops.

Folksinmagic,
I already have the "Magic Place" book which is great and was curious about the one I won. I may be interested in the other book you mentioned. The cassettes you are talking about I assume are audio which personally for me I never seem to be able to concentrate on, thanks for the other info though I appreciate it.

Rennie - you're welcome. The small "Digging Roads" book that comes with the audio cassettes is a comb-bound 27-page transcript of the taped interview, with several bonus effects at the end. I think it's only available as part of the tape set, though.

I should add, Steve Cook in the UK is currently writing a new book on Ken Brooke. Ken was a big practical joker and it will include lots of anecdotes about the stunts he pulled.

I believe Russell Hall at Magick Enterprise Sheffield UK has many second hand Ken Brooke Books and effects.

http://www.magick2go.com has a list of books and second hand effects.
