Does anybody know a video or DVD that shows this trick?

No, but the method is simple and well known. Get hold of "Cards that Mean Business." I think it's in there.

I got a deck of blank sided Bicycles and rubber stamped my name & number on the blank side.
Then do a simple force, and they have my "card".
It's never to late to have a happy childhold!

There are lots of methods for magically printing business cards. Mark Wilson has an interesting video tape on the subject you may also want to check out.

I use Michael Ammars routine from his lecture notes-THE SELF PRINTING BUSINESS CARD-1993 WORLD TOUR.
I think it is also in his book. |

George Kirkendall had a great routine for this. He would have his business cards printed on some kind of stock that was the same on both sides, and that had an unusual color or grain to it. He had several blank cards of the same material.
He would put the printed card third from the top, printed side up. Then he would do a "Ghost Count," which leaves the printed card at the bottom of the stack. He would turn the stack over, fan the cards, take the top card, do a business card PM with it into his left hand. Turning the left hand over, he would simulate typing on the back of his hand, and use his thumb to push the card out of his left fist, near the bottom of his hand. Simple but effective routine. The patter was about printers forgetting to print the card. For those of you from Rio Linda, the Ghost Count is better known under the name of its inventor.

If you want to show both sides of the cards, there is something slightly evolved from the Ghost count that hit print recently.

There is also a version I use from Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic. Simple and to the point.

I've used Mark Wison's technique. If you read through it, you'll think it is a dud because all the sides of your three "blank" cards are not shown clearly blank, but in practice the recommended handling is a real fooler. I've never had anyone challenge it, and they are pretty amazed when the printed card appears.

I tried to find this in the Table of Contents of Mark Wilson's Course, but without success. Can you point me to the right section?
Also, what sort of patter do you use? Thanks. |

It's on page 494 of the course near the end under the business magic section.
I use a pretty similar line of patter to what he suggests. "I'd give you my card but the printer messed up... Look... these three are all blank... If I place one of these blanks on your hand, you never know what the power of thought can do. A snap of my fingers and if you turn it over... ahhh that's better." It helps if the top 1/4 to 1/3 of the card is unprinted so that you can hold them in a kind of fan with the blank bit showing and then add the third blank card onto the fan overlapping the same amount after showing it both sides. You can then show the fan again both sides. A rapid 1,2,3 hand to hand count and repeat but this time retaining the former middle printed card on the top to then hand out is a further convincer. As you place the top card on his hand casually fan the remaining two showing top and bottom blank again. |
