The worst part of making this thing has always been applying the cement to the paper. A quick experiment showed that spray contact adhesive works just great -- lay it on thick, let it dry, then proceed as usual.

Nice idea! I wonder if you could prepare an entire sheet of newspaper at once, then cut apart the strips as needed or would the newspaper restore itself? LOL.

James: I use the cheaper, "Borden" product -- about 4 bucks a can, compared to 8 for the 3M.

Michael: Sorry to be unclear in my original post -- YES! You can spray the whole sheet at once! I do that -- on VERY still, windless days -- and hang it somewhere out of the way. Spread the t****m p****r on the paper prior to cutting into show-sized strips.

I use this one as an opener, and it gets a very gratifying response!

I read about "clippo" in a magic shop, it did not say what the effect was though and I have been curious.

What is the effect of this trick?

Fold a strip of paper in half, cut away a chunk near the fold (the center of the strip) and the paper is instantly in one piece again. This is repeated several times.

Ah! Alright.

I remmeber that being done with a rabbit with a too long neck in a tv show, kinda fun effect.
