Favourite - Canadian Spelling. =)

I know there are couple of threads on favourite books but I'm curious as to what you would rate as the best in card magic... whether it is for technical sleights or effects.

Effects: 'Drawing Room Deceptions' by Guy Hollingworth.

Sleights: 'Expert at the Card Table' by S. W. Erdnase

Wow!!! That's a tough one. All I can say is, I haven't read 'em all yet but so far I like reading, more than once with pleasure and actually learning a trick or two is Frank Garcia's Red book and Green book and _Revelations_ . It's hard to digest more than a few lines in it sometimes but I reach for it often.

This is a subject I'm interested in, books on card magic and reading about it and learning an occasional trick or move. I leave the super hard stuff to the experts but I bet nobody has more fun with it than I do Smile .

Get and Read, "Erdnase". All the greats seem to credit that one book. Get _Revelations_ if you can because without Dai Vernon's commentary in the margin Erdnase is only about half a book (MHO).

I'm going to have to go with Miracles With Cards by James Swain. Some awesome and very original effects. Capitulating Queens is the best packet trick I have seen in a long while.

I'm with Andrew Loh on Effortless Card Magic by Peter Duffie. A great book. I also love Darwin Ortiz 'The Annotated Erdnase', 'At the Card Table' 'Strong Magic' and Scams and Phantasies, Lorraine's 'Close Up Card Magic' Jack Carpenters' Modus Operandi' and 'Stars of Magic'.

Regards,

Paul H
