Hi guys
I was wondering what are everyone's thoughts on leather chop cups. Do you prefer them over metal cups? Thanks |

Leather for sure!! I chopped some dice cups a few years ago but never again. Leather is just not my thing but I think Frank Starsini has some nice ones!!! I would get in touch with him to see whats available. I once had one that looked like a shiney aluminum flower pot!!! Hard to tell it was a magic prop!!!

I've seen Frank Starsini's cups and
I like his billiard ball chop cup, but there is a leather chop cup at Adesso Verlag. Which one would you guys recommend? |

Either comes complete with balls. You can find him by searching under general categories with the search terms: "leather chop". Best Regards, Thomas Wayne

I used to run into the "little flat chop cup" on occasion. It fits your requirements exactly.
As the name describes, it is a flat length of leather that you assemble onto a flat (and somewhat thick) disk to form a cup. The nice thing is the arrangement can be carried in one's pocket, plus you can construct the item in front of the audience which allows you to chat with them and interact - constructing the assemblage of course disquiets any suspicions of guile and ruse. I recollect that the thing fit together with snaps. On a side note, I have been out of commission, and this is my first visit here in some time. But I have been given the go ahead from my health monger and thought it would be a real treat to type a few words. (Promise yourself to never grow old.) Very Truly, GSmithson |

The one on the Adesso Verlag web site is one that was made for me by a foreign firm to the specifications that I use in my Renaissance Festival act. It will take a billiard ball with no difficulty.
PM me for more information.

Loading a billiard ball into a leather cup is beyond easy.
You don't hear it and you can squeeze the cup to hold it out. The cup doesn't look squeezed if it's the right size. Even better, you can then quietly set the cup down on a hard surface with the billiard ball inside. I had a few jumbo leather cups made just for fun that can take a baseball. They are on ebay as we speak with load balls included.

That sounds like a good addition to my stacking routine. Right now I've got a couple of large white dice that I use. I like the fact that they don't roll!!!

Exactly, Tabman -- everybody please don't ever use little balls with a leather chop cup - use dice, for heaven's sake!
