In his (dull) book, "How to be a (fake) Kreskin" Kreskin relates a story of playing chess simultaneously with Viktor Korchnoi and an American master (one of the Byrnes I think). Does anyone know where I can get the scores (moves) of these games?
Thanks John

Did he perhaps play white one game and black the other?

Obviously one must wonder if Kreskin used the extremely clever method later employed by Derren Brown while he, Brown, played several chess masters simultaneously.

The method used by Brown predates him though. Not sure where I read about it but I am pretty sure this was done before Brown. Maybe somebody can shed some light on that.

If you believe Kreskin's story, his game against Byrne was finished well before the Korchnoi one. I am guessing that he did something like Derren Brown did--basically playing one player against the other.
The Brown method wasn't perceived as particularly clever by chess players--pretty much everyone guessed his method before the show went to air. Thank you Ted. I'll see if I can chase down "13 steps". Given that there are several million chess game scores on the web, I'm simply amazed that I cannot find the Kreskin encounters. John

The Kreskin games were published in Chess Life magazine several years ago. To find out more, someone at the United States Chess Federation could probably help you out with which issue had the games.
