My all time favorite reverse matrix can be found in Michael Rubinstein's Knockout Coin Magic Tapes. It is a nice routine using only two cards. Quick, easy and fun to do. This effect can be found on Volume 3 of Michael's series.

Dean Dill simple matrix with a backfire is fairly easy and I have gotten many great reactions from it.

My favorite is my friend Robert's he does all at once with no gaffs. I think he calls it "Don't Blink"

A Reverse Matrix is when you do a Matrix routine, and then, the coins jump back to the places they were at originally.

I like Mark Lefler's backfire for Kennedy's Translocation. Johnny Ace Palmer did it for me on his briefcase once and really nailed me.

Sorry, couldn't resist. One of the very first gaffless, four card, four coin (no extras) reverses was my Inverted Matrix that circulated in limited numbers circa 1981-82. It still has a lot of features you won't find anywhere else, like a pick-up move that shows both sides of the card, and a full vanish of the third coin. (In some routines, this coin does nothing!) The good news is that I'm re-releasing Inverted Matrix on "Palms of Steel 3" which should be out around Christmas time. The bad news is that you'll have to suffer through over an hour of my other stuff to see the matrix routine. I think it's worth the pain, I hope you'll give it a look. Check Steve's reviews when it comes out.

Curtis - you must die for re-releasing inverted matrix!
For those of you not in the know - it is probably the best response for those who say "do it again" after your standard matrix effect. Four coins, four cards and one or two VERY sneaky moves. This is one you will use. If anyone is looking for other "four coin only reverse matrix" effects, check out Kaufman's "Coin Magic" and Dan Fleshman has a nice one on his video "Coin Magic Vol. 2"

Hey Chris,
Wasn't a four coin only reverse matrix one of the little numbers you did for me today? There was such a flurry I've forgotten! ((BTW -- thanks for stopping in. Great job today. Killer stuff. Thanks to you, my retention vanish is getting better already! )) |

If you like this plot, you may be interested in my first coin book. I have a couple of matrix/reverse matrix routines in it, which are very effective even though they are extremely easy to do, thanks to a move by Aldo Colombini--which he told me he kicked himself for not having thought of using it the way I did. Anyway, the book is cheap--PM me if you're interested.

Sean Bogunia of dancing hank fame has a great reverse matrix. It's in an issue of Channel One magazine. (Can't remember which one..) It has some unique features.
