Does anyone have this? I recently bought one but it looks like it does not work. There are a number of L-stops that are set onto the cutting board. Presumably, you then put a card precisely into the L-stop and the card should extend slightly over the blades. But my cards stop exactly at the blades, so the cutter blade does not touch the cards. But maybe I am just doing something wrong. Any advice will be appreciated.

Cgscpa:

Thank you for that thread. I have PMed a few of the people who have the product to see if I am mishandling it in some way.

By the way, for others who may be reading this thread, when I refer to "L-stops" this is the name given to the templates that come with the product. There are several templates, one each for short cards, strippers, etc.

Gianni--

Search ebay for the product and email the manufacturer from his link. I am sure that he will be happy to help you in any way he can. It's one of those things that's really easy once you get it Smile

I was eventually able to reach the fellow who invented this item, Brian. I must say that I have never received such cooperation and patience in addressing my concerns. He provided me with the highest level of service and completely answered all of my questions.

Yes. It is a hard, durable plastic. The blade, of course, is a regular blade.

$100.00 for a card trimmer that’s made out of plastic that’s way to expensive, I Bought a photo and card trimmer at office Depot for $10.00 it looks almost identical to that one except without the L-Stops I’m thinking of going to my local hardware store and buying some 3 inch flat metal L-Brackets there come in a set of 4 for about $2.00 all you need is one and then buying 2 plastic or wood inserts and 2 special bolts that you can finger tighten down the L-Bracket, the inserts and bolts should cost around 2 to $3.00. The 2 holes at each end of the Bracket should be big enough for you to move the Bracket around to make your fine adjustment and all for under $20.00.

Your $20 dollar cutter is $60-$70 dollars at retail price.

You also aren't including the price of labor, the cost that went into prototyping, the cost of marketing. The cost of the drill to get through each cutting board and the money for specially printing each L piece. Profit for making them and selling them, ect...

Most cars don't have $40,000 of raw material in them. The price associated with it is the actual making of the parts, labor, advertising, testing, payroll, facitilies, tools, factories, ect,ect ,ect.... This is no different.

I think $100 dollar for this custom piece of equipment is actually pretty cheap...
