I'v had my Chop Cup for a while but have not really found the time to play around with it, probably because I can't find the notes that followed with the Cup.
Which is the best resource out there, either on print or DVD? (Sorry if this has been asked 1,394 times before) ![]() Jack.

I think that Al Schneider has a chop cup tape or dvd on the chop cup.

I really love his work because everything he does is done in a relaxed and calm way, something very few performers are able to compete with. He's in a class of it's own, as very few are..one of the very best close-up workers of this- and the last- century

An excellent primer on the Chop Cup is "The How-To Book of the Chop Cup," by Merlyn Shute. It's available at most magic shops, including and Hank Lee's and Daytona Magic. See http://daytonamagic.net/customer/index.c......tId=4996

Jack,
PM me and I´ll be very happy to send you a very basic but powerful routine that came with my chop cup. José.

I met Al Schneider during the LVMI. A very pleasent guy, and a truely wonderful perfomer. As Werner said, he works very slowly, which he only can because he understand the theory behind magic better than anyone. He reminds me a lot about the late Michael Skinner.
I would recommend everything Al puts puts out. Daniel |

John bannon has a great routine in Impossibilia.
Larry Jennings has a great routine which can be found in, among other places, Jim Swain's 21st Century Card Magic. Dennis Loomis has a great routine.

Thanks, Frank.
I've had some interest in the routine alone. I do sell the booklet by itself. Just be aware that it was intended for use with the Loomis/Riser Micro Chop Cup and accessories. However, there is much in it which would apply to other props. Dennis Loomis

Although I haven't seen the entire Loomis routine, I've read enough about it to say that it represents a novel and very creative approach to the Chop Cup.
Dennis' routine is designed to be performed standup, without a table, using your hand as the platform instead. Suffice it to say that there are certain special advantages to performing the effect "in the hand," which provide for very powerful misdirection as well as a surefire method of knowing whether the gimmick has operated properly. I'm sure that once in a while, many of us have been just as surprised as our spectators when we lift the cup and see that the ball has NOT magically arrived as promised!
