Hello,
I have been reading a number of posts on the subject of pick pocketing. Namely, http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......;forum=6 and http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......tart=0#7 I am interested in purchasing Mark Raffles works on the subject; specifically the book as opposed to the video "The Pickpocket Secrets of Mark Raffles", which I understand, is available from ‘stevensmagic.com’. Can anyone recommend where I can obtain his book on the subject. Thanks in advance. Regards Salim |

I believe only 500 copies were put out; and that was a while back, so it will be rather difficult to land a copy. It was rather expensive if I recall correctly.

I have "Theatrical Pickpocketing," by Jim Ravel. I do not think--however, that it is as hard to find as the previously mentioned book.

Yea "Theatrical Pickpocketing" Is a great book, It covers all you need to know to be a great pickpocket. The only thing it doesn't come with is practice, LOTS of practice. If you have this book and practice you will be a professional pickpocket. People will pay more to get you to do shows and It just adds to your act bringing laughs.

Just out is Ricki Dunn's book. If you like Ravel's book, you'll like this one just as much as it is on somewhat the same style. I have many, and in my opinion, its good to see as much material as possible, as one performer can be inspirational in some areas or techniques that another is not. Of course it all boils down to loads of practise, misdirection and boldness, but the end efferct is rearding IMO not just for money but the satisfaction it gives you and the humour it generates.

When you read the Ravel book, pay particular attention to what he says about the law. It is CRUCIAL.
