I have searched through countless other posts regarding this, and have seen this question asked but not answered. Does this cause permanent damage to the book it is used on? I wouldnt want to be somewhere and use someone elses book only to damage, as well as leave a tell tell sign of what has happened. Thanks!!

"Damage" would be a strong word, and it leaves no traces that can easily be detected. I wouldn't worry about it.

The books don't get damaged, what happen to the books during the routine will not be noticed by the owner later.
But you can only use each book once when you use Silver Bullet for the book test. Sven
