Has any one done this? How did you load the dove to make sure it was not injured?
Thanks Bruce

Yes, Bruce I use a General Grant harness I load spring flowers at the bottom with mylar confetti then 8 24" silks with confetti I then slip in the dove harness and tape the loop at the top of the load tube after the silks are produced I walk up and look in side holding the silks in the left hand I catch the loop with my left thumb (both hands resting on top of the square circle) as I look in my left hand retreats with the dove hidden by the silks as my right produces the flowers (5) sets
when the last set is thrown I step forward and produce the dove "whew" hope that helps Topper.

Bruce,
The square circle is a very good prop for producing doves. I don't remember what kind (if I ever knew) of square circle you have. The MAK types (Yes! repaint it!) with the second load cylinder works well to produce doves twice. Load the first one (no harness) in the bottom of the "bunny" load chamber. The second bird is in the regular load cylinder. I don't use a harness there either, Wrap the dove in a silk and put a cloths pin type clip on it. Leave the clip behind in the load chamber. You can leave the silk behind. The advantage is that the second bird can be produced anytime in the show. Use the regular load cylinder to hold rope, egg bag or silks or whatever you need to use during the routine. Every time you get something out show the works empty again. Then when you do produce the dove, it looks as if he came from nowhere. Use the dove as cover to steal your silk fountain. (When you lift the dove with your right hand it will deliver the silk fountain to the left which appears to be above the prop and was shown empty as you reached for the dove.) Perch the dove on your right index finger but hook the loop with your right little finger on the way out of the cylinder. move your hands in opposit directions. (Right goes up and left goes down. It's just timing.) Enjoy! Bob Magic By Sander |

Thanks for your replys. Looks like I will be able to work something out. If dove is not under too much stuff how long can they sit there? What's the longest you have left a dove in a prop?

I don't like to leave a dove restrained more than 10 min a roomy prod box is another matter but a harness in a coat or square circle or in a table I load at the last minute
