UK TV: Sky One, started at 9:00pm finishes at 10:30pm.
It's all about Venice and this house of Ca'Dario. Not really a mentalism show but it's quite interetsing none-the-less. -Niko

I saw a bit of it. It just confirmed to me what a charlatan URI is. Moving a chair by telekenis. When is he going to have the b***S to own up to what he is...i magician/mentalist. Spoon bending has been overexposued so hes now an expert (ahemm) on ghosts and the paranormal. yeah right and Im the man in the moon.

That programme was so shallow. It lacked content. Gellar has no acting ability whatsoever. There was no depth to any of the info at all. The guy tried so hard to make it scary, I laughed through most of it. The chair moving was hilarious. He is supposed to be alone in the middle of the night (he had done a little piece to his hand held diary cam earlier 'cos he couldn't sleep - so he was alone) when he starts to move a chair using PK. How the hell did the static camera used, showing gellar sitting on his bedside, in front of the chair, manage to track the chair as it moved, did he use PK on that as well, LOL. One and a half hours of empty shallow rubbish. The only highlight was when he got momentarily lost in Venice - He's supposed to be a psychic for goodness sake, how come he got lost, LOL

Have to agree with Ian & Kinesis. I was sitting with some kids who wanted to watch it so I couldn't change over. By the way they are 11 & 13 and found Uri-the-bender hilarious.
Doesn't he have a friend somewhere who looked at this in the studio and advised him NOT to air it? I have to asssume the TV company have something against him and aired it to totally and absolutely make a total p***k out of him. I have never actually been anti-Uri but this was bad acting, bad planning, bad editing, bad tricks, gone crazy! The photo from the fireplace had me going red with embarassement for him and I simply can't bring myself to talk about that chair episode.

I admit, they chair telekenesis was a bit silly, as was the sticker on the fireplace. But overall I quite enjoyed the show, didn't find Gellar 'a bad actor'; in fact quite enjoyed his character. I thought the camera work was good and liked how the show was filmed and edited.
Just my opinion, I'm surprised some of you guys disliked it that much. -Niko

Its strange, we knock those who are playing "the part" (just like the great magi of old tolds us to do......) and are bringing a touch of magic into the lives of the muggles......& we give praise to those who set themselves up as protectors of all that is good & right as they tear down our inherited past, where has all the magic gone? maybe "they" want us all to be wandering idiots doing tricks....I wonder?

Why does the name Uri Geller elicit such a jealous response from most of this forum? If he claims to be the real thing then so what? Do you claim to be a fake? Do you base your presentaions upon body language, new age skills or psychic messages from Elvis? What ever presentation your give for your psychic presentations you are scamming your audience just as Uri is. The only mistake that Uri makes by claiming to be the real thing is that he sets himself up for the fall. If he was asking for money to contact my dead relatives then I would shoot him but, as far as I'm aware ho does not do that kind of thing.

PointStack - Uri charges oil companies millions of dollars to help them search for oil using his psychic powers. He sells 'magic' crystals on QVC for ridiculous amounts of money. He makes mega-bucks from books containing fictitious details and information. He gives vunerable people false hope. This list is just off the top of my head, I'm sure I've missed tons. He's not just an entertainer, he is a businessman who is happy to exploit fools whereever they can be found. Do some research.

So when does the "fool me once shame on you/ fool me twice shame on me" rule start to apply? It may sound cold hearted, but if people are willing to buy into it they deserve to get taken. Besides, if the anti-Gellers are so great at exposing frauds why is he the target? It would serve to go after bigger fish than psychics. Say... politicians, corporate excecs, or medical malpractice. But hey, keep on fighting those dangerous psychics!
Faith is at the heart of all magic.

Scott Grimm - People believe, due to lack of knowledge. That may not be their fault. To take advantage of this for your own (usually financial) gain is wrong. The "fool me once shame on you/fool me twice shame on me" rule is an unrealistic and stupid rule that doesn't apply in real world situations. It's a bit naive to think that anti-gellers would venture to expose politicians etc. Anti-Geller magicians can only oppose what Geller does because they have a knowledge of magic and recognise him as a fake. I would think few magicians have sufficient knowledge, expertise and status to oppose a politician in a similar fashion. Desparate people take desparate measures, if you think that they deserve all they get by falling fowl of a con artist then shame on you.
