Mark Strivings V.I.P. 290 Posts |
Hey gang,
Mark Strivings here. I know there has been a surge of interest in both versions of the Sight Unseen Case of late, and a huge lack of them available at the same time. Nice combination, eh....? Here's the latest on the whole SUC saga. Without going into too many details, for the moment, both versions of the SUC are basically unavailable. I DO have a very small number of the original SUC in burgundy ONLY. If you are interested, drop me a note OFF-LIST (I will not be checking back in here too often, too much going on elsewhere...). My email address is MarkyApril@aol.com. I have NO blacks in either version available. Sorry.... Also, as far as I know, NO dealers anywhere have any in stock. The ONLY version that ANY dealer ANYWHERE in the world can get is the original SUC, and I'm pretty sure that there are none left out there, otherwise you would know about them. Further, I am the ONLY source for the Generation II anywhere in the world. There is no dealer anywhere who can get them for you, so don't bother asking. Again, sorry... Rest assured, the SUC (both versions) WILL be back in production soon. It's a long boring story, but suffice to say that there are a ton of issues at play right now that are affecting the availability of the SUC. Believe me, I would MUCH rather be able to readily supply the SUC to all who want one rather than have to deal with what I have had to for months now, but the dust is hopefully settling and there will more available fairly soon. (NO, I do NOT have a timeline at the moment...) For those who are seriously interested in obtaining either version of the SUC, your very best bet is to drop me a note (again, OFF-LIST to my direct email address please! Don't just leave me a PM here...) and let me know that you want to be put on my waiting list. The very instant that I have any concrete information about the status and timeline of the availability of the SUC, that list will know FIRST. That list will also get first crack at them when they do become available again. But until that time comes, this is your best option. Again, I wish I had better news for all of you, but I'm afraid I don't. For the time being, if you are absolutely desperate for a SUC, keep an eye on the used lists. Trust me, I am doing all I can to get things back in motion, but this is what happens when you are at the mercy of others and other factors in the production of some things. Hope this helps settle things a bit. Take care. Mark Strivings

Mark,
Thanks for your earnest and informative response on the status of your SUC product. I will send you an e-mail shortly, so that I can be placed onto your wait list for the black leather SUC. I just need to decide which wallet suits my needs (Gen I or Gen II). I understand that the only difference between the Generation One and Generation two model is that the Generation two model has more pockets. How many more pockets are there in the Gen II model? Also, what is the advantage of the extra pockets...extra effects? Are there any other advantages (or disadvantages ) in the Generation II model? Also, please confirm that there is no difference in the durability of the two wallets. Finally, I undrstand you do not want to commit to a timeline for production of these sought after items, but could you kidly give us a hint...might it be in the spring, summer or fall 2005 --or not untill 2006? I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Jonathan
Jonathan

Mark's recent post was encouraging, even though he is unable to specify a production release date at this time.
I have decided to wait patiently and purchase Mark's SUC (generation one model) in black leather. I will send Mark an e-mail, as he suggested, so that he can add my name to his pre-order list. Thanks for everyone's feedback on this product and on the SUC related threads. Let's hope that everything moves forward smoothly for Mark and that he is able to ship the next SUC batch out in the not too distant future.

Well, if you had read and not skimmed his post, he says he will not be here and to email him. Pretty simple really.

I have in the past orederd items from Mark and had excellent service. I must say however, that this type of thread seems to appear quite regularly, I am suprisd he hasn't tried to remedy the problem somehow. To say "I won't be available" isn't enough..a bit lijke a shop saying "we won't be open til further notice" customers don't wait forever.

Maybe Mr Strivings is not after the money (which is perfectly ok).
But a marketing guy, will see immediately the opportunity here. It's a very demanded product and I'm pretty sure that those who have come with similar cases are the ones getting the most benefit right now. |

Overwhelming pent-up demand and no supply? Gosh! A situation just ripe for MagicMakers, Inc. and Rob Stiff. However, that would be sad to see.

Juan and Mike,
Great subject for a new post. Please consider creating a new post and I'm sure that a long and thoughtful thread will follow. All the best.
