Here's one from the For What It's Worth Department: For those interested in paddle tricks, here is a link I ran across that has a video of a nice routine using a bic-like lighter. Click on this link http://www.close-up-magic.com/Film.htm and then click on No-Smoking. There are some other interesting videos on this page as well, but this one seems like a nice take on the paddle move. It also has a surprise ending that I thought was good.

The routine is pretty cool, bring out to life the old knives routines with new look. The only problem I see is that I don't know any dealers that carry this item.

I do this routine in all my walkaroud performances. I just love it. The gimmick for the big Finale is out of stock...

That's a NICE routine! Too bad the finale is out of stock - I'd probably buy one.

I have a routine that I came up with a few weeks ago after a comment from a customer.

There's a clip of it here http://www.magicbunny.co.uk/phpBB2/viewt......6#132926

This is only a clip I made to see how it looked as I was developing it, NOT a performance clip. but you will get the idea.

Big plus for this routine is that it's totally impromptu, and afterwards the spectator can say, "He picked up MY lighter and........"

Enjoy

Yea those lighters look really cool but they're charging 50 euros for them on that site. That is waaay to much, almost 70$US!

Sankey has a nice routine on his Sankey live video. That video is one of his funniest - which is saying a lot!

Crixx,
$70 is a little steep. I had no idea it would be that expensive.

I don't think "No Smoking" is out of stock. A friend of mine just recieved it.

"No Smoking"'s routine is simply great. I do this trick since one year and the impact is huge. I prefer to spend 50 € in a very good and useful routine than 10 € in a gimmick I'll never use.
When I see the public reactions, I think 50 € is cheap.

And, the price includes a very well done video. The explanations go further than the simple explanation of padle move. All the details are explained and some original pass (on hand padle) are very effective.

In one word : don't miss it !

No, your not wrong. It IS a high price for what you get. Marquis de Saint Loup: 50euro for a routine instead of 10euro for a gimmick? It's a paddle routine, not a grand illusion. Unless I had an extra burst of cash flow, I could not justify paying 70$US for 1 paddle routine. I'l stick to my knives for now

I'm sorry if that came out sounding disrespectful. I meant no disrespect, just stating my opinion.

I am using Sankey's routine at the moment and it kills. Really!! I feel stupid when I practice so many sleights and then this wins over the whole lot or else In A Flash.

But No Smoking looks so great. It has many phases. I found it here for sale: http://www.magies.com It's in french. The VCD also teaches the one handed spin change, which is original. I think I will buy it.

http://www.magies.com is a great site but all the prices are fairly high!!!
I love paddle moves, but as a smoker, I can't understand buying a lighter that doesn't even works!!!
Specifically when you can do the trick with almost any lighter... just have to find a good one. for those who know the paddle move, it would cost only 1 dollar max... I dunno, it's just my two cents... You can even do it with a proper borrowed lighter... people tend to forget what their lighter looks like. even when you hand them back to them, they can't figure it out (maybe because they're french... ;o)
And the killer handing when it happens IN THEIR HANDS is great. I get great reaction using a simple lighter... save yourselves some bucks IMHO
Cheers

Never the less, it IS a great routine... just watch the demo, you'll know what to do ... after all, it's only a paddle...

But his original handling of the one handed paddle move is so great. And the lgo makes sense and you also receive the climax lighter as well. And it's not 50E but 37E.

No no Crixx, there is really no problem.

k, the lighters work. Only the "2 in one" doesn't. And, I am a bit disturbed by your last post. I wouldn't allow myself to do a routine from an other magician I didn't buy. It is what you suggest when you say "just watch the demo and you'll know what to do."
Perhaps I didn't understand completly what you meant.
