Interesting discussion string on "How do you know you're good." The poster says that after just 6 weeks, he's good...Perhaps, but it truly depends on what you're comparing yourself too, and who it is that's calling you good, better, best.
I know there will be a hundred different answers, but who are the best 3 card men out there, and why? I've seen kids that were way too good for their years, but many lack presentation and seem to just want to show you how "good" they are in doing the sleights. To be fair there are also some that are serious about it and really work on understanding magic in a deeper sense. I've seen many seasoned card men that are very good, but again, who are the 3 best that you've seen?

"Living" or "Ever?" Vernon, Marlo and debatably Scarne for "Ever" and as for "Living," that's a moot point since no one is as good as they will be. You can only compare dead guys.

Derek Dingle and Del Ray were the two I remember as being the best. Del Ray was enormously entertaining and Dingle wowed with his technical skill.

If someone handed me a pack of cards, put a gun to my head and told me to send someone in to entertain and impress a group because my life depended on it I believe I would hand the cards to Bruce Cervon.

I'd probably hand the cards to Rich Cowley.

Why is a good question.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Love the responses here...Everyone knows of the well-known guys, but it's most interesting to hear of the guys that are not your household names. Who do you wish we all could've seen do their thing?

That "My age not including me" is written in a way that suggests you wanted to put yourself in that list. That seems a bit arrogant to me and knowing the way you always post on this forum, that can not be your intention.
Personally I have not seen many cardicians. I've seen Darwin Ortiz on a video and he was great. From the files on Glen's site, Jack Pyle has it going on and the video of Jimmy Cards his cull is most impressive. Arnaud Chevrier, to me, is what magic is all about. IF you would look up the word smooth in a dictionary, a link to a video of his should be mentioned

Tielie m'boy, I think you might've been over-reading or over-reacting here... Just for the record son, Bishthemagish is plenty good himself and more guilty of modesty and humbleness than any form of arrogance in regards to his own abilities...He's been around for a long time, most successfully...A very accomplished magician and absolutely killer with any piece of magic he touches, cards, coins, whatever...Love his technique and presentation of the 3-Shell Game...Smooooooooth.
