Hiya everyone,
Just wondering, what is that move performed in the film "The Sting," before they fleece the guy at poker? It seems to be some sort of pass, but with only one hand, and it isn't the charlier cut.
If any of you have seen it and know what it is, I'd love to learn it...
Thanks, Ciao

Are you talking about the deck switch? He was ringing in a cold deck.

I think you need to be more specific.
during the game? before the game?

I don't think anything was done during the game except the deck switch via hanky.
but I have not seen the movie in a couple of years.

There is a great sequence where Paul Newman is practicing in his railraod car. He is showing off for Robert Redford. The cut you speak of is the Erdnase One Handed Shift. There is also a beautiful shuffle sequence with strip outs and up the ladder. Some nice second dealing etc.

Trivia Question: Whose hands were they really?

Someone answer the question. I don't perform cups and balls so I'll leave it to someone else. But that's a nice offer, take advantage of it. Thanks Tom.

I'm sure you can find the answer on this very forum. I may have even posted it elsewhere myself.

I answered the question, but I'm editing the post away since I don't do the cups and balls either. Generous offer, though. Somebody take him up on it!
