Ploter, just an ordinary spoon. Theres millions of variations on a basic concept. that's why I love this art!

I would vote for Patrik Kuffs' "Metal Bending" video. It teaches nearly all the basic techniques. Then you have to develop your style of performance. Nevertheless, Patrik is her at the Café and you may ask about anything which is not clear. Also Tony Hassini Teaches how to bend a key and break a spoon in his "Mental Magic" video but you can not compare them with the former one. Of course there are many other works on the market and I have not watched the Banacheck video yet.

Well... I guess that if you watch Banachek's video you'll never get back to Kuff's one.
Steve Shaw shows the basic techniques too (may be not as many), but he goes into much more depth about how to use those techniques, and especially the psychology involved. Moreover, he asked the permission to teach all of what he teaches (which was easy since most of these techniques are his)... Best, Sylvain |

Kuffs does have a nice gravity bend, and the x bend, possibly for alain nu, was very impressive. I believe the whole permission thing has been defined and stated here a billion times over again. Like my Grandma use to say, forgive and forget. Really, wheres hate and a grudge going to get you today? Don't we have enough hate with terrorist attacks, and nuclear bombs in Korea?

Kuffs and Banachek tapes are the best tapes on Metal Bending you can find today in the market (I did buy both and I love them both!)
Two other good sources of info on the bendings are IMO Gellerism Revealed (Ben Harris) and Key Bending (Mark Walker) Also, check out the Meta-Logic routine (I've read it long time ago so I don't want to mistake the author's name but I think it was Fred Baumann) Max |

On the subject of metal bending, I recently received the Gerry and Banacheck video in the mail, having purchased the Kuffs video much earlier.
I'm impressed with the routining and psychology from G&B, something I felt was missing from the Kuffs tape. The latter is more an encyclopedia of moves than a teaching video. One thing did cross my mind while watching the G&B though. I feel that there is too much movement and shaking of the silverware. It seems to communicate "Look! I'm doing something fishy!" Having seen Geller do his thing, one aspect of his performance really stands out: When the silverware finally bends, it bends really slowly and it's clear that the metal is moving. There are a couple of techniques on the G&B tape like that, but the initial "tine" bend is too suspicious looking for me. If you use metal bending in your act, how often have you felt that the spectators were not "buying into" the premise? Steve P.S. If G&B ever release another volume I'd really like B to use his psychic ability to stick a large piece of tape over G's mouth. He never shuts up! |

Finally, after reading the reviews, I decided to buy Banachek's video. I am not disappointed. The psychology used with metal bending is useful when doing a show, and Banacheck really goes into depth about it. This stuff in going right in my show! Good job everyone about the reviews and ideas given about the vid, you were right.

Hi gang,
I have recently been informed about two guys from Israel producing underground videos-not so professionally marketed. They say they have all mental material including metal bending. Their names are: Chicco and Dicco and they are located in Alenbi. Is there any of you who has seen their videos ? Is tere anything new ? And How do we contact them ?

I want to buy their videos because the guy was an amateur magician who told me about them. He said they have moderate productions but the effects can not be found anywhere else. They do not advertise them. Since nobody has heard about them-like me- before. Let's forget about them...

I disagree with the person who said that there is "too much shaking" in the Banachek video. The skaking is logical in spectator's minds as to the method of how the forks are logically bending and act as a nice beginning and segueway to the illusion of the bend. I bought the video and I have had AMAZING reactions from people who walk away and begin talking to themselves. I trited the Bavli methods from the manuscript, bought the side bending spoon, which is more of a smoother bend, but really, the bending is much stronger when everyone has the opportunity to hold the silverware and it can be performed surrounded, angleproof! We're all entitled to our own aesthetic, but just wanted to report the amazing reaction.
Martiess http://www.girliemagic.com P.S. I would like to bend a very large visual object for a mentalism stage competition. Anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping to hear from professionals who have real life experience. Nothing too complicated or mechanical aka table leg with motor action... Oh I forgot to mention that I prefer the PK Banachek video over gimmmicked products because you can give them the forks as a keepsake...can be an earthshattering experience for the spectator. -Maritess http://www.girliemagic.com |

Just a clarification for those that may be misled.
There is only shaking in two of the bends, the tine and the twist, and with the twist it is very minute to cover any actual changes in speed as it twitsts. All the other bends are rubs or just plain visual bending.

Hi guys , well no offence meant to all the other spoonbending video producing performers out there but it's Kuffs for me all the way . Excellent optical bends ( and that's what its all about at the end of the day )and the plastic spoon bend is the "cats whiskers"...............
